Teen/adolescent dog rant

Just want to rant about my 15 month cockapoo. Driving me insane, not settling at night, being barky and bitey. Sometimes he is perfect and sometimes a complete pain. No judgement please! I think its still teen behaviour

Yeah..mine's 14 months and veers between super gorgeous and obnoxious as hell...
Recall... variable
Attitude..likewise!

And since lock down has a bad case of 'MY MUMMY' so if I dare stroke another dog she gets all barky and jealous. (she's usually dog friendly and loves to play!)

And..after a leg injury, anaesthetic to check it out as she wouln't let the vet near here, huge bill , pills which gave her EPIC diarrhoea, she has now licked the shaved patch on her paw raw, and when I covered it with a bandage today to stop her making it worse, she spent an hour, stood, face to the wall, huffing in temper and refusing to move Grin

It's just like living with my daughters when they were teens... it wouldn't surprise me if she demanded money and a lift to town....!!!!!!!

Yep - teenage dogs are dicks Grin

Mine was worse as a teenager than he was as a puppy - mouthing, barking, jumping, running off, stealing things - he had me in tears numerous times!

But it gets so much better. He's 2.5 now and his only downfall is barking at the phone and at next doors dog, who he's convinced is the devil incarnate Hmm

But the rest of time, he's lovely and he's my best friend. It's so worth the upset and hard work.

Our 1 year old boy has been a bit of a dick the last few days. Running off to track scents. Crying, lunging and frantically trying to get to a female that was in heat. Went to scent mark in my father-in-law’s house. He is booked in to be castrated in a couple of weeks. I’m hoping it will calm his hormone fuelled brain down!

@StillMedusa I can't believe she stood facing the wall for an hour! I wish my dog would do that 😂.

I’ve found my tribe !

Teen pup being an arse here too. Legged it down the long drive to bark at a Sainsbury’s van instead of just getting from car to house. I don’t think h in ve recovered yet - I thought he’d be splatted on the road 😱

Woke and demanded to go out at 2.30 am and wouldn’t come in ..... and again at 3.30 when I refused to take out so was lying waiting for sounds of puddles !!

Puppy class today quite good but dominated by him staring at a new other teenage boy 😂.

If he were so bloody gorgeous 😂.

Oh and yep “ my mum not yours “ and “ my mum the centre of the universe “. He cries / pulls and goes bonkers if I dare disappear to go to the loo whilst we are out.

And now .... we must wash and groom him. He’ll hate me - as in leaving the room 😂

Yep my 1 year old is being very annoying, has completely regressed at night and now wakes up at least once. Last night at 1am he got me up just to have a sniff and quick wee in the garden 🙄
