Dog ate onion

Dog ate about 2 tablespoons of lentil and tomato pasta sauce which contains onions. Jack Russell size dog. Should I take him to vet???

I know onions are toxic. Hard to say how much onion was in the sauce.

I would give your vet a call, but I would think he’ll be absolutely fine. It’s such a tiny amount, and onion isn’t like grapes where even a small amount is toxic.

A bit late, but I think he would be fine. We gave our terrier table scraps that included onion (beef stew, pasta sauce) and she lived to 15...

I really wouldn't worry about such a small amount.

I remember letting ddog lick the bowl after I'd had vegetable soup once (with onion in) then I looked at the ingredients and googled and has a right panic!

He was fine and I'm sure yours will be too. Maybe ring the vet if you're concerned though
