Hi

DDog is 1 and up until now has been eating Millie's Wolfheart. He has the same flavour kibble (we have tried others but he's not keen) twice a day although sometimes he now just eats once a day. We add cheese, ham, chicken, sausages to his food sometimes (as a treat, not regularly) which he loves.

I have been thinking about adding some wet food to his diet? When he was neutered he had wet food and loved it but hasn't had any since then. What do others do? Do you mix wet and dry at different times? I'm just thinking the same kibble twice a day must be so boring for him!

We feed a mixture of wet and dry - he only eats once a day though.

We feed Harringtons - so he gets 200g of wet food (each tub is 400g so it does two days), plus 3/4 of a cup of biscuits, which I mix together in his bowl for him.

He has zero interest in kibble on it's own, and a plain wet food diet would be too expensive (plus I don't think it's brilliant for their teeth).

Mine lot have always loved Millies but I do occasionally change flavours, and also add in small bits to make it more interesting- raw egg/salmon oil/sardines/ raw mince etc

Ours are great fans of the oil.out of tins of fish, a bit of raw mince, trimmings from home butchery and the occasional servinf of the most grim cheapskate wet dog food that DH sometimes buys and that they would sell their souls for.

My dog is raw fed, but if you don't want to go completely that route, you can get bags of free-flow frozen mince - beef, tripe, chicken etc - that you could add a little to the kibble on occasion. We feed it frozen, he doesn't mind at all.
Other things we feed: whole raw eggs, a spoon of natural yogurt, sardines, bit of grated cheese, fish heads, frozen peas, carrots, a raw bone, chicken wing tips etc.
I also think kibble is incredibly dull.

Mine has Millie’s kibble and Applaws wet as it’s the only type he will reliably eat although it is quite expensive . For breakfast he just has an Applaws pouch as it’s a token meal for his medication to go in and for tea he has Kibble and Applaws chicken and broth . We’ve tried all types of food over the years including raw ( will only eat chicken raw) , the raw prepared nugget types ( smell was awful and he didn’t like it ) , cooking for him ( pain in the arse ) and different types of wet .

I make up some weak chicken/beef stock and squirt a bit on the kibble each evening. One stock cube lasts about 3 weeks. Just adds a bit of flavour.
