Just wanted to know if this is usual. Old boy is 10 an a half. I rescued him from Spain in November 2014 from a reputable rescue. He has a passport with full vaccination and vet records for his time with the rescue.
He has had recent back issues and I have tried to claim for tests through Animal Friends. They want full records from the vets in the UK (I moved 3 years ago so that's 2 vets). I also sent a copy of his passport. They are now saying they want the actual records from the Spanish vets, translated would you believe!
I have never claimed anything for him in the past. He has never had back issues until now.
Is this usual? It seems such overkill for what will probably be no more than £60 back after I pay the exclusions.
Seriously thinking of cancelling the insurance and just saving the money each month into a fund for the boys BUT they are old and I do have full life insurance with AF so I am conflicted.
Any advice gratefully received.

Hmm wonder if they’re more likely to do it with back issues?
Not with animal friends, but when I put in a claim for back pain with my last dog they suddenly requested a full medical history, he’d always been with them and the same vet... but by that point it was a very very long file!!!
By that point he’d had 4 different specialists, 2 operations not including neutering, x-rays, scans - we were 
at them wanting all that for some different painkillers when I’d already claimed for all those things, lol
Getting the vets record should be easy enough, just let them translate them?...
