The doghouse

Does anyone muzzle their whippet/lurcher?

Looking for recommendations for a muzzle for my large whippet boy, wondering if anyone else has to muzzle their whippet or lurcher and if they generally take to it? Feel bad as he is ultra sensitive and I think he is going to hate it but this is a last resort unfortunately.

I have greyhounds, muzzled them for a while after adoption until I knew their temperament. They seemed fine with it while out and about, but they might have been used to it due to being trained for racing previously.

Be prepared for people thinking you have a dangerous dog and commenting on it though, when actually you are being a responsible dog owner

Forgot to add, I used a muzzle specifically for greyhounds due to their long snout! Made of plastic, cushioned at the top of the nose

The negative reactions of other people does put me off but equally I am hoping it may stop people letting their dogs run up to him and bother him as he is on a lead...perhaps that is wishful thinking though!

It does stop some, unfortunately there are still some dog owners that will let their dog bother yours and they have no recall Angry
