Clingy dog

Yesterday and today, my dog has seemed out of sorts. Nothing concrete I can bother a vet with, especially in these Covid times, but she is following me everywhere and is extremely clingy. We have had her for 4 years, but she is my first dog and I’m not sure what this means? For information, I have been working from home for the past 2 months, so not separation anxiety. She seems to be shaking a bit and is panting occasionally, but mostly just won’t leave my side. Has anyone got any clue what this behaviour means?

Is she spayed? If not, is she coming into season?

Could be any number of things. Has she been spayed?

I'd ring and get it checked with the vet, could be a sign she's in pain.

My dog, normally very independent, had become a bit clingy over the last lockdown weeks, as apart from my going to the supermarket we're never apart.

However, being clingy and shaking and panting, could indicate pain.

Like pp said, it might be a good idea to ring the vet.

I was very reluctant to ring my vet over something I was concerned about with my dog because of the whole 'covid/emergency' thing. When I eventually did call them, they saw her without any hesitation.

When I went there I was quite surprised at how busy they were. If an animal is in pain a decent vet will be more than happy to see them.
