Handmade greyhound collars

Several years ago I found recommendations on here for people who make dog collars to order. I used one of the companies suggested and got a great Christmas-themed collar for my (tiny) sighthound. I now have a giant, rescued, racing greyhound and would love to get him his own made-to-measure collar. He doesn't deserve it, won't appreciate it; but I want him to have it. Unfortunately I can't remember the names suggested. Can anybody recommend (preferably independent) companies doing this?

My utterly favourite subject! IMO, the best is Meggie Moo. Jo's collars are works of art and properly safety tested. This is one of my former foster puppies wearing a gorgeous Liberty print (which is only brought out on special occasions).

We have collars from Slouching Hound (daffodil, sunflowers, poppies and a few others), and a couple from Dogs on Bikes (Richard Skipworth), and others.... There is a strict collar hierachy here as well as obviously the need for appropriate seasonal selection. And then matching the leads to the collars. And the right coat for ddog1.

Posh Pods (on Facebook) make my boys' collars. They are fab.

I gave my big (scent) hound a bead-studded torque from Doggy Boho (can't do links on phone), with a dangling silver angel wing to represent the dogs looking over her. It is utterly magnificent, like her. You can also buy gorgeous martingale collars and smaller, non-hound neckwear. Highly recommend.

I think that's it CMOTdibbler - Meggie Moo! I'm sure there were Liberty prints on the site I used for my Italian Greyhound. We have his Christmas collar, which was misletoe and berries. I had an email querying the size because it was so tiny. Horribly, we lost him to cancer.

The new twerp we got as a rescue at 8 years old, (all four of our sighthounds have been rescues). Thanks for the info. I'll get on to the Meggie Moo website. I'll try and post a photo of him if I can - he's extremely handsome; orange brindle with yellow eyes that change colour depending on the light. But I have no idea, at the moment, how to do that, so I'll try and figure it out.

I can't remember where I got this collar from, so I'm blatantly just showing off my beautiful boy. It was a padded leather collar with brass bunny rabbits and Swarovski crystals 😁

That took me so long to work out how to post this. So I know next time I'm asked for a photograph I'll have totally forgotten how I did it.

Ooh, he is a lovely big tiger brindle isn't he. I have a big soft spot for them. And I love the way he's tucked up in bed :-)

CMOT - He's not 'tucked up in bed'; he owns the bed :) I try and dive in the bed first, so he can't use his very heavy paws and head to appropriate my [small] part of MY bed.

The thing is, it's a king-sized bed, so you can imagine how much room he takes up! By the way, he's also got his head on my personal silk pillowcase. Oh well, I'll just have to get the face crease marks and he can stay as gorgeous as ever (the annoying fool).

Ddog1 likes to sleep with his head on the pillow too. Fortunatly, he shares a bed with ds (age 13), so the two of them are OK in a double together. We have however had ddog2 and a pointy foster puppy in our bed at times (as ddog2 gets anxiety about change, and if we have a little friend who won't sleep in a crate, he's not being left out) and that makes our king size bed rather, um, cramped. But when someone small and pointy has squirmed up the bed and kissed you in the morning, you tend to forgive most things

Somm I am loving the look he is giving you while his head is on your pillow. Its like he knows he shouldn't but is going to anyway!

Doggy Boho, Silver Peacock, Kitsch Collars, Boomerjacks.

All highly recommended.

"I am loving the look he is giving you while his head is on your pillow". Yep, that's him all over Goldenhedgehogs. He has no interest in being a pet. He tolerates us living in his house. But I thank God we took him on at the age of eight because nobody else would put up with the daft begger :)
