Canine oral papillomavirus?

A small pea sized pink spot popped up on my dog's lip a week ago and after googling have come to the conclusion it is a COP. I have spoken to vet on the phone but obviously they are seeing emergencies only and wont be able to see her until restrictions are lifted. Does anyone here have any experience of these? Any tips or advice on how I could treat it at home? It's not causing any discomfort at the moment but has got a wee bit bigger. (Sorry tried to attach pic but failed). Thanks

Is it a young dog? Check around and inside mouth to see if there are more. Take a really good set of photos in natural light and email to your vet. If it is a papilloma, they tend to regress without treatment. If still present in 8 - 10 weeks' time it should probably be removed or sampled. You could take a pic once a week or once a fortnight to help monitor.

My spaniel has recently had a lump removed from her lip which sounds exactly as you describe, though I can't remember the vet saying that. It went off to the lab for testing but due to the lockdown the results aren't back yet. It wasn't causing her any bother but it hadn't shown any sign of disappearing by itself. The operation to remove it was straightforward, she had a few dissolveable stitches.

Thanks for your replies. Shes a cocker Spaniel aged 2 and a half. I just dont want it spreading and becoming problematic- under normal circumstances I would be getting it removed. Fingers crossed its nothing more serious 🤞. I've been taking photos to monitor its progress.
