Dog pulling on lead

I'm waking a dog for a friend temporarily. He's only little but he really pulls. Do I just let him or can I do anything? He's not my dog I guess and is adorable. Perhaps this is a deep seated urge in me to get a dog and make him my own. I always had a dog growing up and didn't realise how much a walk in an evening helps my mood. And yes. I pick up!

Some dogs have not been trained to not pull on the lead, especially little dogs.
Some dogs take the piss when being walked by someone other than their owner.

Seeing you are thinking about getting a dog, start training this one. Every time he pulls you stop, when the lead goes slack again start walking. Ask what his heel command is and use it.

Remember puppies are total arses. The reason they are cute and fluffy is so we don't kill them. Research well before getting a dog and do consider rehoming an adult one.

Loads of online resources if you Google loose leash walking. Here's one

Tricky when it's not your dog though as there's no quick fix.

Thanks for these. I’ll take a look. I praised him a lot yesterday when he did have his loose lead spells. I think he’s missing being off lead for a run but I’m not sure he’d come back to me and also wonder if off lead is a good idea at the minute too. I’m loving that he’s excited to see us for his walk though. He’s a bundle of fluff and very cute
