Sorry if this has been asked before but
High energy 6 month old, who has lost the chance to go to day care and all the walks are a bit more boring now as we don’t meet any other dogs etc.
Everyone’s home now and she has serious fomo and not having her usual naps that she used to when I was working from home alone.

Dpup does not really care for the effort involved with Kongs, unless she’s really in the mood, and she isn’t super food motivated so that makes things harder.

She does enjoy a rolled towel if I put something stinky in.
And we chase kibble around
Obviously the usual playing inside and outside and running over the tricks she already knows. The house is small and mostly open plan so it rules out a few games.

I’m looking for some new tricks she can learn too.

She mostly likes to chew and ‘kill’ and run.

Things we do sometimes that might help...

  1. Practice 'stay' and see if pup will allow you to hide her kibble in a few places while she looks and she needs to stay, pay attention, sniff and eat.
  2. Learn a new trick
  3. Get some boxes and pretend to hide kibble in every one but really just put some in one of the boxes. Let her sniff it out. Sniffing is quite a tiring exercise so any sniffy games are good.

Have a look on YouTube and I think there is a Facebook group that has lots of enrichment ideas but I can't remember its name!

If you're on FB:

Canine Enrichment - endless ideas for enrichment activities of every conceivable type

Canine Conditioning and Body Awareness Exercises - basically fitness exercises for dogs, loads of which can be done indoors or in limited space

14 Day Canine Fitness Challenge - run by a rehab vet, basically an introduction to canine fitness exercises with a live video (viewable later as well) with a simple exercise suitable for dogs of any age

Kikopup on YouTube is great for tricks, recently she posted a compilation video, , which has loads of great stuff on.

I put a crack in my skull in December, with a 7 month pointer. Shock

She can now do assault courses built out of a laundry basket, coal scuttle and kitchen bin. She does come by and away like a sheepdog. Totally rubbish at heel still Hmm

I did use canine enrichment to make each meal captivating.

Use your imagination, anything is possible.

Just review food and possibly give slightly less so they are more motivated to get food out of the Kong
Fill this with Cheap spread cheese and freeze
