One cage down, one to go.

Had border collies 30 years or so with a gap of 5 years where we got a rescue Rough Collie. RC sat scared in a corner only coming to life when other dogs were around. Got a BC (3-4 months old). Got on great, lots of play fighting verging on just going a bit too far so both caged at nights. Have got rid of one cage so one cage left which is the BC cage. She goes straight in it at nights and for about a month now the door has been left open so she can roam in the kitchen with the RC. No issues all good. I can now get rid of the second cage and put my table back in. The problem is I feel really bad as the BC obviously likes her cage. Am thinking about putting an additional bed outwith the cage for her to effectively wean her off the cage. Any suggestions?

Watching with interest, we're hoping to get the kitchen done in the summer and our BC cross loves her cage but we bought a big one that would fit a small elephant and I'd rather have its space.

We took the top off our side table and fixed it to the top of the cage, therefore making the cage part of the furniture.
DDog liked having the top on it, made it more cave like.
