my 15y and a half year old JR? He went blind in one eye two years ago, is getting deaf and I am starting to suspect he may have cushing's disease-always hungry, weeing a lot in the house and seems to be drinking more than usual. Worse than this is that he has always been a bit of a bully to my other JR-his blind and deaf, placid, inoffence 16 and a half year old father, but as he's got older he's got more cranky and his aggression towards him is getting more frequent and my heart breaks for the older one when he is attacked for no reason.
Researching online I see that my dog would probably need to go through quite a few tests to get a confirmed diagnosis for cushing's disease and even then there would no cure, only medication to help with the symptoms of excessive thirst and urination so I am wondering if rather than put him through the ordeal of all the poking, prodding and going back and forth to the place that he hates going, it would be kinda to just spoil him rotten at home for a week or two with the things he is still able to enjoy ie lots of food and little walks and plenty of belly rubs
and then ask the vet to come and euthanize him while he's conked out after his last walk and dinner. I am crying writing this, but I really feel it would be the right thing to do for him and for my other dog, who needs and is entitled to some peace in his old age too.

I'm sorry you're having to deal with this but it sounds like it would be the kindest thing at this stage Flowers
