Itchy paw ointment

Can anyone recommend a cream/ointment for itchy paws? My younger dog goes through periods of biting at her front paws until they are red. (I wondered if this might be displaced itching to do with anal gland but that’s fine, or so says the groomer, so I don’t think it can be).

There are loads advertised but I have no idea which work & are completely non irritating.

I did wonder about using Hydromol - which I use on my lips (great lip balm!) and on any irritated facial skin on my children. Anyone tried this one a dog?

I would want to know why it was happening. Can be anal glands or other pain. Can be allergy related. What do you feed? Does it happen at certain times of year?
I’ve tried all sorts. My dog gets yeasty paws as an allergic reaction. Sudacrem works but make sure it’s not eaten!!

We use Aromesse Itchy dog cream. It's non toxic so ok if they lick it. It works well for our Ddog.
Have heard good stuff about stinky stuff too

I think you need to look at what the problem is.

Is this a year round problem? Only in winter? My dog gets sore paws in winter, with grit and salt around. So we rinse her paws after every walk. We have a paw balm, to preempt it.

Thanks very much. I’ll try the paw washing & careful examination.
