Best dog walking torch recommendations

Hi, I'm wanting to buy a torch each for two teenage boys who are about to get a puppy after Christmas.
Any recommendations, they live in a rural area with no street lighting.
Or will just any cheap torch do?
Thanks

What about head torches and that would leave a hand free

I’m rural, no streetlights nearby, with dogs and horses. Last Xmas someone bought me a beanie hat with a rechargeable light in it. It was life changing- so great to be able to use both hands and the light is so bright. Less bulky than a head torch too.

Haha, snap @whitney. Although cheaper on eBay.

I use this headtorch, USB rechargeable.

Another one for USB Rechargeable head torches! You want both hands free, especially when it comes to picking up poo

I also use a rechargeable head torch - makes a big difference (though those beanie hats look good too).

Headtorches are great, but please tell them that when they meet another human being on their walk, it's REALLY annoying and blinding to have the fecking thing pointed at your face.

Thank you so much everyone. I love the idea of a beanie with light, they will make perfect presents.

The boys said they would just use their mobiles but that didn't sound very practical to me. Why do teenagers always think their mobiles are the answer to everything Grin

@TildaKauskumholm great tip about being blinded. I will certainly point that out.

I would also get them some safety lights so they are very visible to drivers. A lighted or reflective leash and collar for the dog is a good idea, too.

Thanks @Aquamarine1029 that's a good idea. Will check out some high vis stuff for the boys and the dog!
