How many of you share your bed space with your pooch?

Our sleeps on my bed until about 1:30 - 2am which is when I generally start going to sleep and at that point I carry him into his own bedroom where he sleeps on a double bed . When I’m away he sleeps on our bed all night because dh goes to sleep earlier and can’t be bothered to move him . I wouldn’t let him on the bed if he was a dirty / smelly dog but he’s a medium sized terrier who has a haircut every 4 weeks and is kept very clean in between times .

Nope. She’d like to but I draw the line at that. She sleeps downstairs with a door closed so she can’t get upstairs.

Mine sleeps where he likes. Sometimes on the floor. Sometimes in DS’s room inside his play tent. Sometimes on DH’s head like a hat.

God no. That foul beast ate some cowshit, several raw potatoes and then languished in a fetid ditch this afternoon. I don’t know what smells worse: her fur, her breath or her farts.

Yep, he sleeps in between me and DH (on top of the covers) he gets down at some point in the night though as he is always in his own bed in the morning. I also have 3 cats who come and join us randomly through the night.

Ours used to, until we got a second dog. Now they both sleep in the kitchen in a giant nest bed together.

Tbh, he was a PITA for getting on and off the bed, scratting about, having a wash, dreaming and whimpering. I don't miss it as much as I thought I would..................

One of mine does as DH works away during week. My dds laugh at him because he sleeps like a human with his head on the pillow. At weekends he sleeps in his own bed in our room and just sneaks on the bed in the morning for a cuddle.
The other one very rarely gets on the bed as she gets too hot. But she always stays in our room.

Have you taken that from your bed on the floor, fourquenelles? Grin

I’m a very bad dog sitter. I’ve had up to four dogs in my bed! I put a extra cover over the bed and take it off when we all get up, so if I get the opportunity to get the bed to myself, it’s still clean. Mind you, I’ve IBS so the dogs probably complain about the smell of me. Grin

She sleeps with the teens and comes onto ours in the morning. She’s very happy.

TOtally I have about 6 inches on the edge of the kingsize bed. Wouldn't have it any other way.

@fourquenelles gorgeous dogs - not much room left for you Grin

No, but it's not for want of trying. After DH has gone to work, if he's forgotten to close the bedroom door I usually wake up to find a couple of spaniels on the bed, which is officially not allowed.

Our dog had his own bed and I had mine. I didn’t get on his and he didn’t get on mine. We kept it simple.

That’s very generous of them to permit you share with them. fourquenelles Grin

Not allowed to sleep on the bed as too many paws and allergies.
When dh is out on a Sat morning, ddogs 2 +4 know its cuddle time!!
Even dc don't do that!!
Then I change the bedding!!
Dh pretends he doesn't know I think!!

Our dog is a norfolk terrier so quite small. He sleeps between dh and I, on the duvet, not under it though! My friend thinks is disgusting. I do love him snuggled up with us but tbh he’s a bit of a pita at times as he gets off the bed around 4am for a scratch and mooch about before getting on the bed again and that always wakes me. Every night I say that he’s going to have to sleep in his own bed in the kitchen but then I look at those sad ole puppy dog eyes and say ‘oh, ok just for tonight’, that same routine has been going on for over a year now.....I’m such a soft touch!!

You can buy brilliant wee steps for dogs, OP. He might be quieter if he has those.

Absolutely not.
I see where they go and have been.

They're not allowed upstairs, though I caved accidentally on bonfire night as some idiots backing onto us were setting off a bumper pack and one of them had taken themselves upstairs and hidden under our bed.

I don't like the idea of animals on beds though

No. He stays in the kitchen.
