Our dog is currently being fed on tails.com and even though he seems to be doing well on it, he's constantly appears to be hungry. Has a yone else found this using this food? He's not loosing weight or anything but just doesn't seem satisfied.

My recollection of tails is that they have a small number of different kibbles and just mix them in different proportions to 'tailor' a bag for your dog.

Some time ago I looked at it and filed it in the 'expensive gimmick' category. Sorry.

Allaboutdogfood.co.uk is good for independent reviews of dog food quality.

We put our 1yr old on tails food, selected the low grain option and costs us about the same per month as buying from the supermarket, compared to other companies costing double what we pay now. Sometimes he does seem hungry and sometimes he seems to go off it for a few days so we’re keeping an eye on it for now as I don’t want to change his food again in such a short space of time (only had him a few months).

Interested to hear others experiences.

My puppy came with tails.com kibble and Natures menu wet .
She was reluctan to eat he kibble, so we tried a much higher quality one ( as in the allaboutdogfood site) Tails is rated 62/100 so not the best .
However my pain in the ass puppy wasn't much keener on the most expensive Orijen either!

Now mostly raw fed with a bit of home cooked thrown in!

We tried tails and our puppy seemed constantly hungry on it. My older dog really didn’t like it and eventually lost a little weight, so we checked allaboutdogfood.co.uk and changed to a much better quality food (Orijen) for both. I was reluctant to mess with their food again as they’d only been on tails for just over a month, but both are much happier on their new diet.

I was kicking myself at the time as I knew it was a gimmick but they got me hook, line and sinker with their ‘tailor made’ and ‘just for Buddy’ tactics. Lesson learned.

One of the benefits (there were others) of moving my dog from kibble to a high quality wet food was that it fills them up more.

The amount of a high quality kibble that you need to feed is tiny when compared to the same food in wet format. I know it swells in the stomach but I don't think it's the same.

Thanks, I did check that website initially and tbh tails came out quite well. Our dog has a very sensitive tummy and most food we've tried hasn't suited him. The food he was on was incredibly expensive and tails is half the price and doesn't play his tummy up at all which for us is a huge bonus, it's just the hungry thing.

I feed home-cooked meat with brown rice and vegetables and our dog eats a big bowlful twice daily plus a snack of good quality dry food at bedtime and raw bones too.
Dog only weighs 7kg but demands a huge amount because he’s very young and very very active.
If your dog is always hungry, rather than normal dog greed, I’d feed him something more satisfying. Kibble is soooo boring.

I found tails to be quite obstructive when I contacted them regarding my 2 year old male labs weight loss.
I now use csj dog food and he's bouncing with health again.
