As per the title, thought I could maybe start a thread for us to show off our lovely dogs. This is our rescue ex-racer greyhound Bobby. His favourite things are food, sleep, squeaky toys, more food, more sleep & having all his humans with him.

Fourquenelles how did you end up with 3 galgos? Rescues from Spain?

TheHumans They are indeed from Galgos del Sol (GDS) in Murcia. I was looking for a companion for my old greyhound and came across the plight of the Galgo on line. I saw Rafa (the bigger tuxedo boy) and fell in love. He had been in a kill station when rescued. Teese (the brindle) came with him as by this time my greyhound was 14 years old an I didn't want Rafa to be an only dog. Teese had been picked up off the streets and was being bullied by some of the other rescue dogs.
A year later GDS featured Javi. He'd been in rescue for 3 years. No-one wanted him as he was black, old, snaggle toothed and cross eyed and was thought to be very dominant. He had been found tied to a railing with a telephone cable and was riddled with leishmania. He LOVES people, has no concept of personal space and is in remission now. He is reactive on lead because he wants to play, not to attack.
They are in retirement and doze for 21 hours a day. Perfect for me.

Fourquenelles, how lovely for those dogs to find a home with you, and how lovely for you too.

My black grey-cross was unwanted, we got her at 6 months old. She is so gentle, sleeps loads, loves people. I could only have pointy hounds now (my love spans whippets, greys, lurchers and galgos ) I hope to get a proper pack of hounds when I am retired. I shall be the mad old dog lady!
