Strong chew toys

Can anyone recommend some very strong chew toys for powerful chewers? I need a few things to pop out when we leave them for a few hours a day (school run etc)

They like antlers but are bored of the 2 we have. Things like pig ears etc last 1 second or less.

Anything fluffy/squeaky is destroyed before the tags are off. They have no interest in balls only food related items.

Has anyone tried the tree roots or can reccomend anything else? Ideally I don’t want to spend £20 on something destroyed in half a day Blush

We have a strong chewer and these are the only things that hold his interest:

  • stuffed cows hooves. He eats the filling then chews the hoof (warning - they absolutely stink!)
  • stuffed trachea from pets at home.
  • yakkers chews - basically solid lumps of Yak cheese. He loves these and when you get to the end bit, stick it in the microwave for about 60 seconds and he gets a new chew out of it too.
  • stuffed bones
  • raw bones from the vets

We tried roots and antlers but he got bored easily. He did like buffalo horns for a while as well.

Not a chew per se but if you dont already, start using stuffed Kongs (get the XL black ones) that have been frozen over night.
Can stuff with anything e.g. meats, veggies, baby food etc

My dog must be weird as has no interest in Kongs whatsoever!

Thanks!

We have kongs but I find it hard to keep them interested in them.

I have 2 dogs left together and mostly leave 3x kongs out but they tend to give up very easily if it’s something that they can’t be bothered with. What do you all stuff with?

We have a kong bone which mine love. It has withstood hours of intensive staffy chewing and seriously committed tug of war several times a day for almost a year now and is still going strong!

Mine can chew through anything except the black kongs and Nylabones.
The vet told me that antlers are causing tooth fractures apparently.
The amount of stuff I’ve tried thinking it would be ok only to find a heap of chewed bits ten minutes later Grin

Mine get through Yakers in 10 minutes so they work out too expensive.

Deer legs they like (from Fetch.co.uk) they are £9 ish and last for ages.

Raw marrow bones (Nature’s Menu or from butchers or raw food supplier) keep them busy for hours and aren’t too messy as all the meat is on the inside and they have to lick out.

Would raw marrow bones and deer legs be ok for my dog who doesn't normally have raw food? I need something to keep him occupied and interested in the car as he barks otherwise....

Yes mine used to have them still when they were on kibble.
