Dog cave bed - any recommendations?

hello, we have a very adorable one-year-old rescue that's a small sort of poodle/terrier/peke type.

We didn't crate train him because he came to us at 5 months and hadn't been crate trained and I wanted the transition to be as smooth as possible (he's from another country and had lived with his brother). However, I notice he likes confined spaces. He's made a strange nest for himself inside the sofa. Actually inside it - he's chewed through the lining at the bottom of the sofa and so climbs in and sits in a weird hammock bit underneath the seats. He also likes sitting under chairs.

He never sleeps in his own bed or ever lies on it (sleeps on the stairs or on bathroom mat or our bed), but I think he'd really like a cave-like bed. I've seen a few online but wondered if anyone could recommend one.

We have a cave bed for our whippet. It’s a Charlie Chau. Quite £££ but she absolutely loves it verging on obsessive. Be prepared to lose out on cuddles though
Also it washes beautifully

Ooo that's a great recommendation, thank you. Not cheap, as you say, but as winter is approaching, I'd love him to sleep somewhere other than on the cold bathroom tiles (his current choice).

Not an actual dog bed, but we’ve got an IKEA Poang footstool which our little dog has adopted as her personal cave. I’ve put a folded fleece blanket inside to make it more cosy and it would be easy to make it more of a cave by draping a blanket over the whole thing.

My dogs are rather large, but I have two of these for the cats and they like hiding away in them, so depending on how big your dog is, it would be worth a cheap try.

This is the whippet in her cave bed. You can usually find her here unless she is being walked

Tangchi which size did you get her?

Our whippet is still a pup, but that is exactly what I had in mind for when he's older!

We have a Cozy Cave which has a furry lining and comes highly recommended by our whippet!

She has the largest size and it’s perfect. I was very resistant to getting a dog such a pricey bed but it’s worth it

Maybe HiK9 raised bed with the tunnel topper as that's like a hammock. The tops are removable so can change in summer for coolness. www.hik9.com/collections/snuggle-tunnels

I didn't buy the toppers and used vet bed or duvet on top, i suspect the greyhounds would've just flopped on top of that tunnel than realise could go inside it.

My dog still has a crate he likes to go to when he wants he own space, just had to chuck a blanket over for it to become safe haven for the firework/thunder phobic hounds to retreat into. They do like a makeshift den, another favorite lounging spot is under a desk that's enclosed by walls on 3 sides. Most of time they'll sleep on a sofa thankfully not in it.

ooo so many great suggestions, thank you. I wonder which will be best or whether he'll still prefer a night on the (bathroom) tiles. I find that spending money on dog stuff that we never use is even worse than my habit of doing the same with baby equipment.

Dog has a Charlie Chau too. It now 2 years old and looks like new. I bung the cover in the wash and it comes up lovely.
