I bought him a new quilt the other day to go on his side of the sofa. He didn't seem that impressed at first and kept pushing it off. Now though, he's become quite enamoured with it and sucks a corner while kneading with his paws and flexing his toes, almost the way a cat retracts and unsheaths its claws, but not anywhere near as elegant . Then he lies there for a bit face down in the quilt snorting and gargling contentedly before dozing off in a puddle of dog saliva.
Please tell me about your weird dogs! should I seek advice from Mermaids

He's young, but not a pup (a year) and has never shown "kneadiness" before. We livewith 2 cats, do you think he might be copying them?
Another peculiar thing is with his food bowl. If he doesn't finish his food, he does this really exaggerated pantomime of covering it up with invisible leaves or something. He'll use his nose like a shovel, as if to bury it or gently snap the air all around it. Then he'll scrape the floor to cover with more thin air.
