Ours have whichever dry is on offer! With some tinned and always veg!
Love veg!!

AsahiGo Thu 03-Oct-19 17:12:53

Do you mixgravy or anything in with the kibble?

Mine has Butternut Box after DH got suckered by a sales rep at our county show

To be fair, it is actually lovey food, she has a pouch a day so it’s easy to feed and she loves it.

Tutlefru Thu 03-Oct-19 17:17:50

She’s on Barking Heads. The salmon one to be more precise.

Sohololopopo Thu 03-Oct-19 17:18:50

I’ve tried everything for my darling. I tried raw and she refused to eat it. She’s had Lily’s kitchen and she doesn’t like it.

she is now in love with forthglade, with fresh mince or beef chunks or of liver mixed in.

She will have some celery, cabbage, carrot, cucumber or Brussels sprouts in it also, and some country hunter superfood veg mix.

We mix it up as she is allergic to chicken and turkey so we’re a little more limited with options.

A mixture of different brands of raw completes and minces. I like mine to have variety in their meals, they will pretty much eat everything and anything I plonk down in front of them.

Millie's Wolfheart. Just kibble, nothing else mixed in

(I have gundogs! They aren't fussy eaters 😂)

BiteyShark Thu 03-Oct-19 17:27:21

At the moment Forthglade wet (selection of chicken, turkey and lamb) and Carnilove wet (selection of turkey and salmon, reindeer and venison and lamb and wild boar). He also has biscuits, cooked chicken and carrots.

Dr John Silver because a) it's very cost effective b) they all eat it and it keeps DGreyhound's greyhound tummy nice and healthy and c) I've not heard anything bad about it.

I mix a tiny bit of meat in jelly in, or sardines in oil, because DGreyhound, despite liking the dry food, can be a bit picky sometimes and the sardines in oil are good for the coat.

Stellaris22 Thu 03-Oct-19 17:40:23

Another fan of Dr John here, our dog has a beautiful shiny coat and loves it, I use it as treats sometimes. Mixed with Butchers.

Darls3000 Thu 03-Oct-19 17:53:47

Ours gets Aatu chicken or duck and Canine Choice dry food mixed together.

This website is really useful for understanding what's in dog food so you can make informed choice.

Our picky eater , having tried more or less everything has decided he likes Applaws , tins , pouches , pate and dry in all the flavours they do .

Notwiththeseknees Thu 03-Oct-19 19:34:46

Mines on Butternut Box too - it is very good quality and she likes it, although I get the impression she is waiting for me to fill the freezer before she decides I'm
trying to poison her again. She likes raw food, Millie's Wolfheart and Eden.
I'm deciding whether to continue the BNB as I used to pressure cook something very similar for my JRT when he was old & poorly and I could use the BNB as a fallback.

Kibble: Skinner's Field and Trial (with joint aid) and about to try Mole Country Store's own brand working dog food, because it was on offer and I go in there for dog food anyway.

Plus table scraps, vegetable trimmings and game offcuts and bones when we have them. Also bones from our local butcher.

As someone above said, gundogs aren't fussy. And they look great on it.

Ours is on Millie's Wolfheart. He only gets kibble. He has fish oil every morning added and usually a carrot each evening. He gets A LOT of training treats throughout the day as he's still young and learning.

QueenAnneBoleyn Fri 04-Oct-19 06:09:41

Lily’s Kitchen tins. She refuses to eat any kibble.

AsahiGo Fri 04-Oct-19 06:51:43

Mine hates kibble (don't blame him) but he's also iffy with some foods. I'm trying to ween him onto home cooked meals haha. Has anyone found a kibble for dogs who don't like kibble?!

Mine didn't like kibble hence feeding a good quality wet food.

Floralnomad Fri 04-Oct-19 08:06:23

Mine gets bored with kibble which is why I mix a little in with the wet . The applaws kibble is very small pieces which he seems to like ,

DeniseRoyal Fri 04-Oct-19 08:09:00

Mine has Harringtons with a bit pf chappie mixed in. He has a sensitive tummy and Harringtons seems to be the only dry food that agrees with him.

DeniseRoyal Fri 04-Oct-19 08:11:25

He also has raw bones when we can get them and any leftover veg mixed into his food.

thesunwillout Fri 04-Oct-19 08:37:46

James Wellbeloved and a bit of Sainsbury's grain free wet on top.
Green beans ( I buy a bag of frozen) on top for one meal.
Loves cucumber, bit of raw carrot as a treat.
