Bedtime biscuits?

Hi

I've read a few times on here about dogs having a bedtime biscuit as supper or sometimes if they wake up early they get a biscuit.

Is this a thing? I feed my puppy at 7am, 1pm and 6pm - he eats every last bit. So I thought I could give him one of these before going into his crate at night. I just googled and Lily's Kitchen Bedtime Biscuits came up. Our pup is fed on Millie's Wolfheart - would it matter if we used Lily's Kitchen as a bedtime snack? Are there other bedtime biscuits?

Mine is 17 weeks now and still get s supper.. but I don't give her anything special.. she either has a small amount of Kibble (Lilys kitchen puppy) or a few training treats... she loves a dried sprat!
I think 6pm (which is also when mine gets her 3rd meal usually) is a long time to 7am for a youngster..I have supper so she expects hers :)

We've always given our dog a biscuit after the last let out in the garden to signal it's bedtime. That's worked well for us.

I give our dog a nighttime treat after last wee to signal time to sleep. A bit of carrot. He thinks it’s a chocolate digestive with a glass of milk.

I wouldn’t give a biscuit for waking up early. It’ll encourage the early mornings. Grin
Mine has a treat to encourage her to go to her bed and settle. We don’t give biscuits at all as she’s raw fed and has allergies. Mixing brands shouldn’t be an issue though.
Remember if you start this your dog will always expect it. And watch weight!

Lily's kitchen bedtime biscuits have camomile in. I assumed it was to calm dogs down to help them sleep. I'm not sure it works, but Appledog likes them anyway.

My dog always has a gravy bone when he comes in from his bedtime wee , they are the only type of biscuit treat he will eat .

We give a bedtime biscuit after the last wee of the evening. Girl dog barks to remind us if we forget.

we tried those Lily's kitchen bedtime biscuits and they used to make him wild! He gets a bonio now and as others have said it works well as a signal

Mine have a raw carrot before bed or a Barking Heads Nite Nite biscuit.

Ours always has a gravy bone when she comes in from her last wee before bedtime, it's a way of signalling bedtime and she knows once she's eaten it she goes straight off to her bed (or the sofa) Smile

My dog gets one of these after her night time wee. She runs into the bedroom for it.

Ours get a bonio - they go out for a last wee, come in and we say 'Bedtime biscuits'which is the cue for them both to get in their beds in the kitchen, they get the biscuit, the light goes off and they know its time to settle down.

I've obviously not been doing enough reading, never heard of bedtime biscuits! Sure Spotdog would approve if she knew about them, but don't think I'm going to tell her! Def wouldn't give her one in the morning or she'd be waking me up for it.

Ours gets a couple of gravy bones - despite the fact she’s supposed to be on a diet! Blush

I think the idea of a bedtime biscuit it's sweet! I gather it's for those whose dogs sleep in a designated area. Mine have dinner at 6 and a treat when we eat (sweet potato or millie's fish or seaweed). The last wee is just that. We just ask go to bed!

Tesco gravy bones. £1 a box. They think they are getting something fantastic. Twonks.

dudsville , not in our case , our dog has his last wee , his gravy bone ( pedigree no cheap alternatives , he can tell the difference ) and then comes up to bed with me .

When I put the dog to bed I make my own nighttime drink, she goes for her final wee and then jumps on the sofa for her biscuit
Which is usually a milk bone as in my head it's like a glass of milk for her ha! aren't I mad Grin

But she settles well and never have any issues, also if I don't do that for whatever reason again no issues

My poodle gets a treat before bed. We have to show him the sausage before his last wee, otherwise he deliberately wees on the carpet.

I love my poodle but he is very manipulative:-)
