Thinking about switching to their fixed premiums just before pup turns 2, wondered if anyone had experience or thoughts on this company? Thanks!!

Yep they racked the prices up after the first year by 35%. I personally would not use them again

Contrary to Jouska's experience, I use them and they voluntarily dropped thier price in the 2nd year.

I've claimed a fair bit and it's always been easy to claim.

Weird I was insured with them for one year only 2018-2019 needed to renew this March had no claims but a 3 year old dog "more claims made on dogs before the age of 7" and increase in vet bills of 7% so had to increase prices" quote from renewal form!

OK I am beginning to take this personallySmile I wonder why it went up for me? I may give them a ring and ask.

Do call. Battendog is just over 2 years old.

He was £28pm for the first year and it went down to £25 for the 2nd year. We claimed both years.

Perhaps we will get a shock next year :)

You can tell I have paperwork to do as I procrastinated by calling Bought by Many Smile

The reason mine (and apparently other customers) went up was the change of age from 3 to 4 years old of my dog. Apparently this is a high risk age for claims usually accident rather than illness. They also waffled on about vet bills going up by 7% for this age group. She said it may also have been location dependent.

However when I asked to take this dog off and insure the older ones it still was 35% higher than last year.

So will stick with NFU policy that also covers the working element for my dogs.

I really hope you do not get a shock next year missbattenburg

They did try to sell my their guaranteed no premiums increase policy for the lifetime of the dog - their Fixed for Life Policy but despite me telling them my dog did not apply as he was over 2! Which on paper does look quite good but very expensive and it tries to offer £7000.00 per condition but stops at a limit of £20,000 which over a lifetime could be reached

It was that fixed rate I was looking at. Such a gamble!

My 2 yo pup is on the fixed for life policy. It’s £30 per month, so far I have claimed more than I have paid them even with the £60 excess. My 3 yo pup is on the variable rate with them so holding my breath for a hike this year, a 35% hike would take her premiums up to over £30 per month even though she has never had a claim, we shall see.
