What is the most bizzare habit your dog has?

My DDog has the most annoying habit which doesn’t make any sense

I have hard flooring all of my downstairs of my house. He eats Lily’s Kitchen dry food

He will bring Every Single piece of the dry food in his mouth all the way from the kitchen into the lounge, drop it into the long pile rug and then find it and then eat it - or half the time, lose it Angry so if you walk across one half of the rug, it has 20 soggy dog biscuits stuck in it

He 'buries' his treats around the house. I'm forever finding pieces of carrot and what not behind cushions, under rugs, in my bed. I'm not sure he ever eats them. Sometimes he will uncover them then trot off elsewhere to bury them again Hmm

Not sure about bizarre or unusual, but my ddogs annoying thing is when I'm watching the iPad in bed. She pushes it aside, or pushes it closed, then pushes her wet nose in my face and nudges my hands aside when I try to open up the iPad again. It's quite annoying!

It's not a habit, but about 30 minutes ago ddog jumped up onto the sofa pushed herself under my armpit, farted and left.

I'm not sure what I've done to her to deserve that.

He asks to go out in the garden, wanders out, steps up onto one of the garden chairs and sits in it like peoples, just looking out at the garden. He does this almost every day.

Her favourite sleeping place is under the beds. And we have to go hunt for her as she might be under my bed or the spare room bed.

Ddog also HAS to walk right on the edge of the pavement, the strip at the edge. Whole of the pavement to walk on but that's where she walks every time. Also only wees on grass.

Love these!

OP, my chihuahua does a similar thing with food. Doesn’t hide it, but insists on carrying each piece to the other side of the room to chew it then goes back for more 🤦‍♀️

Also have an American Bulldog who strokes me back. He puts his paw on my arm when I’m stroking him. Not strange, more cute but he’s my 6th dog and the first one I’ve had that does that.

@Stellaris22

Mine also does this!
Also completely pulls his whole body across the path of every single runner, cyclist etc, even on a short lead. Sees them - wants to be run over by them

Mine sits on small dogs Blush . To be fair she's only a puppy, but a big 4 month old. She is mega happy and excited to meet other dogs but given a chance she sits on them if they are smaller...and is very proud of herself!
We are training her out of it!!!!

Humps every dog he meets.

Mine comes for cuddles. He does not sit beside you nicely instead he randomly jumps straight at you and sits facing you so his front paws are on your shoulder. Should you try to move he pushes against you and pins you down. All so he can stare intently into your eyes whilst demanding cuddles. 22kg I'm dog sitting on your lap staring at you Grin. Bloody weird!

No garden here, we take him outside for a loo break, if he poops he waits til you've picked it up and thrown it away to have another poop. He does this every time but if you wait with the first bag still open, he doesn't poop. You have to go to the bin store and chuck the first one. Drives us mad. He's also my second dog who does the individual biscuit out of the food bowl thing.

I love these!
I have a 14 years old Shih Tzu who jumps on me, stares right into my face and smacks her lips when she wants a drink.
There are water bowls in various places around the house as I have 4 dogs, however she never drinks from them. She wants me to get up and fill a fresh one and put it in front of her!
I think at her age though she has earned this privilege.

When he gets sick of someone rubbing his tummy, he sneezes and jumps up to make it look like he's not being rude by just walking away. He always looks really fake surprised too like he didn't realise he was going to sneeze.

When we go up to bed at nighttime she has to first hide under the bed. This means I have no choice but to either stand at the side of the bed calling her out ( which she refuses to do) or climb into bed myself, get all snuggly then have to get out again a minute or so later. She loves sleeping on my bed but can't jump up herself. No idea why she has this ritual

She picks up her favourite toy after she's finished eating and expects you to chase her, and by chase, I mean just follow her around the whole of the downstairs. It's a slow journey as she's wiggling her back end so much lol. She jumps on the sofa when she's finished, it could be after 1 lap or 10 depending on her mood. She'll then spend 10 minutes licking said toy.

Luffs her

@Pookiedo Bella and Eric both take any treats to eat them on the only bit of carpet on the downstairs floor as well. Thankfully they the wet food stays in the bowl.
They both hide biscuits to eat later. Prime hiding spot is on my chair behind a cushion so the minute I sit down I have to get up for the dog to move their biscuit.
Bella likes to hide hers in the spare downstairs bedroom if the door is open. Then I spend half the day opening and closing the door so that she can check that it is still there.
Eric objects to the word turkey. He whines and if you repeat it he barks to drown out your voice. He doesn't like you to say "Hands up" either or raise your hands. Saying "Hands up who thinks Eric is a turkey?" blows his mind and he goes crackers.

Mine barks whenever I drive at less than 80kph (that’s fun in town when the limit is 50kph!) and insists I hold his paw when we’re sitting in the sofa watching tv.

My late lurcher also did the the biscuit on the rug thing, except he would take a huge mouthful, walk over to the rug, spit it all out and then eat each one individually! His most annoying habit however was if there was so much as a speck of food in his water bowl (that he had dropped there while doing the biscuit palaver) he'd whine while looking from the bowl to me. If I didn't remove the offending item immediately he'd start sticking his massive paw in, throwing water everywhere, followed by booting it around the floor barking at it until the floor was completely soaked!

One of mine won't eat a Jumbone, but instead treats it like something very precious and carries it round, buries it carefully in the sofa, gets it out again, cuddles it, brings it to bed and so on. All other chews get eaten, but jumbones are apparently to be loved.

Mine drops to the floor and sleeps like this. We are obviously expected to step over her every bloody time...

Mine climbs onto the back of the sofa and walks along it then sits on my shoulder. She's an English bulldog so not exactly light or agile Grin.

She also likes to tear up cardboard. We gave her a flattened cardboard box last week and she climbs on it and tears it to shreds with her claws.

I think she is actually part cat part hamster and not a dog at all!

Is obsessed with the washing machine and tumble dryer. Loves seeing us empty and fill them, tries to 'help' by closing the doors, will pull random socks out of them, will watch them when on and if she's not watching them will run down the hall when she hears the buzzer indicating the end of the cycle.

I think in a past or future life she is one of those assistance dogs that help disabled people. But only with their washing, nothing else.

Oh and she thinks she's Scooby Doo, she will leap on you so that her legs are under your arms.
