Baskerville - ultra if he’s got a wider muzzle, normal if he’s got a thinner pointier one. (Patterdales come in quite different shapes, so it’s harder to recommend one over the other)

Pros
they can’t bite
it gives a pretty clear message to people that your dog doesn’t want to interact....

Cons
They make giving rewards harder
They make most games pretty impossible
If your dog eats minging things they get filthy
If your dog likes sticking their nose into things to sniff them they can’t reakky do that
Other dogs can be a bit off with them as they can’t actually see their face
Bring muzzle punched really hurts, so you still can’t let them mix with other dogs

But the not being able to bite is a pretty big pro, so how likely they are to pretty much determines whether you want to use one despite the cons

Thank you that is really helpful. Sadly I think I have to muzzle her now. We have had her for 2 years and she is much less reactive than when we first had her. We keep her on a short lead and she wears a warning coat. Usually I walk her in the forest away from other people and dogs. Trouble is that she is so random In who she takes exception to. Today after passing 6 people she suddenly jumped at a woman and barked and knocked her hand. I need to shorten the lead still further I think.

I apologised and the woman walked on, but I found it really upsetting.

@FLOrenze I have a chewer so he has to wear a muzzle when In supervised in the boot of the car and had to wear one at doggy day care for a while as he chewed a garden sofa to pieces. If you go for a plastic one, make sure it's fitted well or you will get this type of cheeky laughing dog face.
We also have a black material one which is much softer and I think less intimidating looking

@FLOrenze - meant to say that yes he had managed to chew through the top of it. He got through 3 (2 slimmer and one black version) before we got it right
