Hi, any experience or advice on the best wet food for puppies. I have a dry food refusing 5 month old border terrier! Thank you

allaboutdogfood.com is a great site for researching the quality of different foods.

Lily’s or Millie’s Wolfheart have gone down well with my fussy dog

Thanks for that site missbattenburg 🙂. FLOrenze, do you feed one brand exclusively as with dry food or can you mix wet?

Sorry I worded that badly! What I meant was, can you go straight from one brand of wet food to another without a gradual process as with dry food, not actually mixing the foods?! Cheers x

My extremely fussy dog only eats Applaws .

You should gradually swap the wet food just as for dry. It can upset their tummies. We have used Millie's wolfheart and now use wolf of wilderness as they have so many flavours it gives variety. Via zooplus. We always mix a tablespoon of the wet in with the dry food ( Markus Muhle) and have never had an issue with refusal of food ( we have old dog age a,most 11 and young dog 15 months).

My dog gets various different wet foods to keep his interest. We swop flavours each day (across brands).

We are currently feeding a mix of forthglade, carnilove and millies wolfheart.

As PP mentioned allaboutdogfood.co.uk is a great site and you can compare quality and cost of various wet foods. Annoyingly my dogs favourite is carnilove which is bloody expensive Angry

Because of her tummy she eats tree small meals a day. I started using. Millie’s as it was recommended on here. She has alternate days of Millie’s and Lilly’s. She alternates between dry , which I get from Essentials, in the morning, wet and dry at lunch and wet in the evening. She is fed at regular times and for the past 18 months we have had no diarrhoea or vomiting. Plus she poos at the same time every day.

Dogs vary enormously, she is a very nervous, reactive dog, and this is reflected in her gut.

That’s good to know FLOrenze. We’re finding it’s very much trial and error with his food so it’ll be helpful to be able to try him with different things a bit more quickly than we did with dry.
