Licking clothes

Earlier today I brought a bin bag of baby clothes into the house to sort through for when ours comes along.

Whilst going through them our 1yro bitch laid on an item and started to lick it.
Clothes were all clean but have come from a friends house where the dog has been and met the kids.
Just curious what your thoughts are on this 'behaviour' it may just be ones of those things but interested as she doesn't usualy lick clothes. We haven't had her too long either so still getting to know her.

@PookieDo aw bless what sort of dog do you have? Thought it would have been positive she looked very happy but think I'm a bit nervous about introducing her to a newborn

Wondering if it's possible there's a slight residue of baby smell that your dog is picking up, even if the clothes have been washed.

My dog doesn't tend to lick things but she will lie on the leather sofa and give that a couple of licks sometimes.

Mine is a little Maltese yorkie X terrier

He likes to lick, I think he just likes to explore with his nose AND mouth 😂

Mine licks your face when he is happy and excited, Any wet body parts such as feet or legs after a shower, his own feet (a lot), his toys extensively and sometimes likes to try cleaning your hands of anything nice smelling Envy

One of my labs licks things. His own leg and the sofa are his favourite things. The vet said it was like a child sucking their thumb.
