What to do with a month's worth of open packets of dog food

We got a delivery of dog food (meat), we bulk buy a month's worth as it's cheaper and easier. After opening, we realised that almost all the packets were open - as in the plastic lid had become un-stuck on one side/one corner, etc. I've complained to the company, so am expecting them to replace them (hopefully!), but what do we do with all of this that we already have? It seems such a waste to just throw it all away. Could we put it in a chest freezer and take some out a day in advance? Would that kill any bacteria that may be there? I have no idea how long they've been open for. There are 72 packets in total Sad

The freezer doesn't kill bacteria.

I would guess you could recook it - heating it to about 75c should kill off anything but it's a lot of faff.

Just saw this - I would throw them away, tbh. I once had 20+kg of raw meat delivered that had defrosted and dripped blood all in the house as it was carried in!

Chuck it. Won’t be as wasteful as potential vet fees! Sorry.

Ooh is this Naturo?

Someone posted about this on Facebook - their dog had eaten some (they hadn't realised) and got really ill. Naturo are aware of the problem by the way.

Please don't feed it to your dog Sad

And don't freeze it, it becomes waterlogged and mushy, we tried

Is it forthglade? This happened to us and we had to bin it all in the end. Forthglade were great and replaced it all and sent some treats too.

Sorry for late reply, but yes it's Forthglade. Unfortunately I got it from Zoopla, not directly from them, so no freebies!
