Our darling staffie is such a sick note, but he always amazes us with his resilience. He's got allergies, been attacked several times (now dog aggressive), hip displacia, had severe mites as a pup, you name it he's caught it, had 5 tumours removed, spondylosis in his spine and the latest thing we've been battling is 2 slipped disc and more spine degeneration. This boy honestly, I love him whole heartedly even if he is a jerk at times!
We did manage to control the spine issue, but now he's back to being super slow, wobbling all over the place and unsteady on his feet. Keeps holding a leg up as well which is how is all started before. He's super bright in himself, still my happy go lucky beautiful boy but this is the beginning of the end isn't it?
We're off to the vet later for some meds, I hope so much he can rally round again but I know in my heart it's only going to get worse. This boy has been through so much and always amazes me but it's not looking good. I don't even know why I'm writing on here, just don't want to face it I guess?
Bless him 😞 how old is he OP?
You clearly love him very much, no advice unfortunately but I’ll be thinking of you today.
He'll be 11 next month. Hopefully we'll get some anti inflammatory meds and some painkillers
That's so hard. Hope you get some good news.
No advice either I'm afraid. Just my good wishes for you and him.
Sad news, it is the beginning of the end. Got some painkillers and steroids today, and back to see our usual vet Monday evening as only the locum today.
I expected it, but right now he's happy enough in himself. Already an emotional wreck now
So sorry to hear that.
Can't imagine how hard this is for you.
