Hi All,

Does anyone know anyone that breeds chihuahua cross Pomeranian?

Preferably in the South purely for ease of driving smile

Sadly some of us aren't able to respond to posts at all hours of the day which is why I haven't been online.

To the people asking legitimate questions, thank you. I take in board your comments. I have been raising dogs my whole life so please don't imagine I'm a person who wants a designer dog. My sister managed to rescue a pomchi and it's the most wonderful dog I've ever met in my life. I always keep an eye out for similar dogs on rescue sites and have yet to find one suitable.

I have been around both Poms and Chi's that are pure bred and I'm not opposed to either.

It was a question based on research and dog knowledge.

Anyone that feels the need to get on their high horse and lecture rather than sending informative and helpful posts really needs to give their head a wobble and look at what they're doing.

I think it’s perfectly ok for people to ask why you would want one, what is the reason for it. It’s not accidental breeding between them and I do not know what features the dog gains that either breed doesn’t already have, seen as you can get long haired Chi Knowing one really nice dog doesn’t mean that every dog is the same and with a Pom chi I would be very worried about weight gain and their joints. They can be way too fat for their limbs

And its perfectly ok for the OPs answer to be 'because that particular crossbreed is what I want'. But not on MN apparently.

Fabulous idea OP! You are sure to get a dog that is identical to the one your sister had and with any luck it will have the yappiness of the Pom and the herding instincts of the Chi. Just do a google search, you should be inundated with amazing breeders, you can't really go wrong.

Because someone else had a nice dog is not ‘research’ though is it. I really am genuinely asking what qualities a Pom chi has that a Pom or a chi does not iyswim

PookieDo Thu 18-Jul-19 10:43:25

Also the ones you have seen before on rescues, what is not suitable about them

You can't tell people what to comment on and not comment on, that isn't the way it works.

When you make a choice as you have, you have to acknowledge how strongly people feel about it.

I think you're being massively irresponsible.

'Because that's what I want' is fine on Style&Beauty, maybe not so much where the item being sought is a living creature?

I think if the OP had included some of her recent post in the OP it would have resulted in a more constructive discussion, unfortunately for her there are far too many blissfully ignorant dog-buyers who really do need a wake-up call, and it wasn't really possible to tell from the first post where she was coming from.

I can't see what the OP has posted in her follow up that makes me feel any better.

Decent breeders don't deliberately create crosses
