Dogs finding interesting things out on walks

This morning my dogs sniffed out a £20 note. It’s not the first time they have found money but they also find jewellery, lizards, horse poo and carcasses .
What’s the best thing your dogs have found for you?
(This was £20 in a forest in the middle of nowhere, there wasn’t anyone to give it back to so it has gone into my post walk coffee fund )

If you were to ask the dog it would be the football he found last week.

I don't think he's ever found anything interesting mostly just stuff to upset his stomach.

Her favourite is a tennis ball to eat. Cowbag! She found a squirrel to chase once and earlier in the week I found her with a live pigeon flapping in her mouth.

Mine found a small deers antler. She brought it home and gave it a good chew. Other than that she is mostly good at finding fox poo to roll in!

Oh yes we have about 20 balls collected from walks. I don’t throw balls for them which my dogs feel is tantamount to abuse

Skulls. Endless small skulls (squirrels?) He consistently brings them back out of woodland/hedgerows. His favourite thing, though, was the inside out, freshly skinned rabbit pelt. Fuck knows what goes on around here for him to keep finding these things.

Where can I get one that finds £20 notes instead?

I was out with the pup and a toddler many moons ago. The toddler got caught short and had to 'go behind a bush' iyswim.
Well, I've never seen a dog move so fast. Treasure!
That was the beginning of my long held belief that dogs are dirty bastards. Said toddler is now a fully grown adult who still leaves the room if the incident is mentioned.

Mine found a teenage 'courting couple' the other week down by the river in the bushes.

Otherwise, they are pretty good apart from things like a very elderly kebab and fox poo. Ddog1 just loses things like squeaky balls and never finds anything.

Our cats otoh educate us on a daily basis as to the local wildlife...

We've had a few of those over the years.

Basically anything semi-mummified and minging, which is obviously a tasty treat and I'm such a meanie for removing it from them.

There is a sad shortage of £20 notes.

We had a huge largely unwanted festival in our very urban park. After it had finished a dog (not mine) dashed into the bushes and returned triumphantly with a large sex toy in the shape of a mans privates! Many pictures were taken, the dog was so thrilled!

Ddog prefers to find balls, or a really big stick (think small tree), but he did run out of the woods with a squirrel tail once

Our late jrt found a smartphone in some undergrowth. Returned to owner. He was obsessed with balls, especially footballs. When we had a narrowboat he used to stand guard looking for footballs bobbing on the water. If he spotted one we used to steer over to it and retrieve it with a net. He literally used to scream with excitement. You would then have some leaky smelly old ball being lovingly torn to threads in the front well deck.

Our cocker's favourite find was the back half of a squirrel, which had to be removed from his mouth by the tail as he desperately tried to swallow it whole

also a courting couple, actually twice that happened, one couple were just reading the paper and picnic-ing and ended up with a large GSD playing gooseberry by sitting between them ...we had not realised he had gone so far ahead
the second courting couple would not have been so easily separated, they were VERY engaged and I was very relieved at the splendid recall of the dog.
a Kong frisbee just washed up on the tide line....I think that might still be in the garden...we do not take it anywhere as I am Not Allowed to throw frisbees. It's hugely dangerous and maybe even life threatening.
Also went through a phase of finding golf balls in the back field, which was a completer mystery since the nearest course is miles and miles away and none of the neighbours seemed the type, but it turned out one of them fancied themselves as the next Seve Ballesteros and was practising after dark

Yesterday on a walk my dog ran off and came back with a full bacon sandwich 😳 there are no houses close so I've no idea where it came from as I took it off him (paranoid someone might have poisoned it or something) and it was still warm. He was in such a huff that I had taken it away that when we got home I may have cooked him some of his dog food to make up for it 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

That reminds me, pup came in proudly with one of the pond fish still flapping in her mouth . It was a very big golden orf.

Mine found a fiver once. Usually it's a rabbit or a squirrel (terrier - never caught either)

Dead things usually but once trotted over to a man peeing in the bushes in the park who looked mildly alarmed ( man not dog ) - I was quick to call her back whilst looking the other way obvs

She once found a large dead rat on the beach.

Unearthed half a decomposing mouse once.

But mostly all she finds are lots and lots of rabbit droppings.

Simpledog loves finding used tissues and wipes!

But his favourite find was an old chicken carcass! He was most annoyed I wouldn't let him eat it!!
