The doghouse

Do any of you have robot vacuums?

I really want one to help keep on top of the dust/hair and everthing else that ends up on the floor with dogs and love the idea that floors wil be clean every morning

I noticed though that the one I'd planned to get had a rotary brush and now I'm concerned that I'll be forever picking the hair out from the brush and eventually it will kill it as it has my dyson hand held.
Any suggestions about what to get or not to get?

Google the Robo vacuum and puppy poop, I guarantee you will immediately be out of one.

That’s what I’m worried about. Which one did you have @Did it break or was the container not big enough for the fluff?

I’ve seen the photos 😂 @lonecat there’s no way in hell I’d leave the hoover in the company of the dogs. I’d run it at night when they’re in with me

We've got a roborock vacuum and I can honestly say it's amazing! Also had a Samsung one (4x the money and not as good).

It's set to vacuum daily and picks up a surprising amount of of dust / dirt!

Defo worth having!

I had 2 , both died , one at just a few months old , other aabout a year luckily I had kept receipts and got money back
They were only cheapies vieleda ? and cost around £70 each , worked well whilst they worked but ultimately couldn't cope with my strands of tumbleweed long hair , I've had this conversation with friends who want a robot hoover and our conclusion was possibly better more expensive one maybe the answer

Don't get a Roomba 671 if you've got big dogs that shed hair.
I'd hoped to be able to come home to lovely dog hair free floors but It just couldn't cope and was more trouble than it was worth. I couldn't rely on it at all, it'd stop randomly, and need to be fiddled about with, emptied or brush dehaired. All the other removable bits would get clogged up and I had to use another vac to clean it out.
Its now just used for upstairs which is a dog free zone and seems OK there.

This is great advice, thanks.

@csam I’d looked at this one but because it looks like it has to come from China when buying in amazon i was worried about warranty. It also seems to vary wildly in price depending on who you buy it from which is confusing

Hi

I have just taken delivery of my Roborock S5 Max with mopping facility and OMG .... I love him. I've called him Bobby. He has mapped the entire house and, as the reviews suggest, he is amazing. I have a discount code for friends and family saving £50 off . He also came with a UK 3 Pin Plug. The link for the discount is as follows ...

Eufy works at for me with 6 dogs with a lot of hair. It works the house every morning. I do go around with normal hoover once a week.

Eufy stops the tumble weed of hair on a daily basis..

Had it 18 months and still going strong.

We have a Roomba 9-series and it copes pretty well just keeping on top of the daily fluff and mud from the dogs.

It is pretty needy in that it constantly needs emptying, filters clearing or wiping down so that the charging point works etc. However, this is still much easier than vaccuming myself daily so it's a win. We then go round 1-2 a weeks with the handheld vacuum on max power to do "proper job".

I have one its great. I have a big house and lots of pets. I put it on in my 2nd lounge / dining room which are two adjoning rooms and 30ft each. I usually put it on when I walk my dogs and it picks up everything. The brushes never tangle. I have two Male so lots of dog hair. It goes for well over an hour. When I come back in with dogs its usually finished so I hoover the rest of house. Its two less rooms for me to clean. I totally recommend them. I have laminate flooring plus a huge rug. It goes over the rug too. I bought mine from Amazon about £80.

I have two Male so lots of dog hair.

Genuine question: do males shed more than females?

I've got a Eufy (30 Max) that I send round the downstairs rooms every other day while I'm doing something else. With two shedding dogs, the amount of low level detritus she picks up is amazing/horrifying/quite satisfying. I think the house smells 15% less doggy, purely because there's no longer a constant fine layer of hair being laid down, and it saves me the sweeping up time.

We've got a Deenkee robot hoover and it is one of the best things that I ever bought. We live on a building site,on a farmyard that alternates between mud and dust, have horses, three cats, two teenage daughters and a dog who constantly sheds, plus hay, straw ect being walked in. It copes brilliantly,I use the big hoover once every few weeks, but otherwise the robot keeps it all under control.
We did have an incident with some cat shit, and I spent a morning dismantling the poor hoover and removing cat shit with toothpicks and cotton buds, but it suffered no I'll effects and still worked afterwards.

I have a neeto robovac, it's one of my favourite purchases along with the Bissell crosswave. I set it off whist I walk Bella in a morning and it feels like I've made a good start to the day when I get back.
