Dog Friendly Cottages with Enclosed Garden

I'm looking for a short cottage break around North Wales or the Lakes to take our new pup.

Most holiday cottage websites let you select 'garden' as a requirement, but does anybody know any I can select 'enclosed garden' ?

I just don't want to have to worry about him getting out of the house and running away. At the moment he is not trained for recall, and at home we have all the escape routes covered.

I have checked Canine Cottages but didn't come up with many.

He is so small and really quick Smile

You should find it easy to find places in Wales - they are generally very dog friendly.

I am not telling you where we go as it is fab and I want it all to myself Smile 32 acres of private secure land - dogs go free and no limit to number of dogs.

There are several dog holiday facebook pages where you can put in the dates what you want and the owners contact you

Have you tried the Dog Friendly UK site on Facebook? Loads of cottages and they all make it clear if they are enclosed gardens/dogs allowed on furniture etc..

We stayed at Blaaenfforest cottages.. it was idyllic. Beautiful area with lots of lovely walks. Hot tubs, log burners, lovely welcome baskets etc. Could not recommend more highly

OverFedStanley that sounds fab, and sounds like a mission for me to track down on google Grin

Cotonshaded I'll take a look at that facebook site, I never think of looking there, I'm not on it much.

marmiteontoastplz Blaaenfforest looks perfect! But our dog is rubbish in the car, gets travel sick. I can't see us making a 3-4hr journey without lots of stops Sad

Thanks all for the tips Smile

Depends where in the Lakes you want to go to. My most favourite place is Buttermere. Not that many people have been as it is a longer drive than most places. It has 6 or so self-catering "apartments" for the lack of a better word and walks start from your doorstep, no roads, no cars. I am pretty sure the gardens were fenced and they are overlooking a stream and the mountains. The views are to die for. After 5-10 minutes of a walk you are at the first lake so lots of swimming for the doggies. You park your car and can do multiple different walks for a week without the need to go anywhere at all (proper supermarket is about 15min away though). There are only 2 pubs in Buttermere (one dog friendly and 1 not) and a couple of cafes. So properly chilled. Call them to make sure the fencing is as I remember. There's a link:

Oh and I know they don't usually want to rent the self catering apartments for less than a week but if it's not that busy- I've had luck!
