Do dogs fart?

Serious question from a new owner! (12 week old border collie pup.)

Sometimes when she's in the room there's a real smell of farts, to the points think she's had an accident (we're still working on houstraining) but she hasn't. Is it normal bit dogs to fart?

They definitely, absolutely do.

Battendog's farts could strip wallpaper at that age.

I switched his food and they reduced considerably.

Yes they definitely do. Our shih tzu is a terrible farter.

Especially if he’s had a lot of treats. Thankfully he likes to sit next to Dh. Who totally deserves it since he’s the one who hands out all the treatsGrin

That was a very long winded way to say yes dogs fart!

You used to know that my late, beloved dog had farted before the smell reached you because she would suddenly bound up and run out of the room, unable to bear her own stench.

My girl farts every time she gets on or off the sofa. Or plays. Or eats. Or stretches. Or breathes.

we found switching to grain free food and treats makes a huge difference. Ddog only stinks now when he has eaten something dead he found outside different.

Oh great, like my husband isn't bad enough. I, on the other hand don't fart. Or if I do, they smell of Chanel No 5.

Our little cavalier farts, then turns around in shock at the noise and looks as if accusing who ever is nearest of being guilty of creating the noise/ accompanying smell.

My dog often wakes himself up with his own farts. He jumps a.mile it's hilarious!

Mine do but but often, at least when I'm around! One of them looks accusingly at me when it happens!

Our lab once woke herself up from a deep post walk sleep farting so loud you could hear it, and looked at us in disgust before leaving the room. Sunday afternoons after they had the veg peelings from dinner was also particularly heinous. And after rawhide, but that was also accompanied by diarrhea so we stopped feeding those.

Oh lord yes rookiedog used to do the most noxious farts, could clear the room in 5 seconds flat. Seemed to grow out of it thankfully, or maybe we changed his food.
