Parents recently bought a dog from someone who needed to rehome theirs. She wasn't spayed by previous owners and parents were told it was best to wait until after she had her season to get her done.

Today however she managed to get out not quite sure how but from what I can tell was gone maybe 10-15 minutes before she was found but she didn't have her pants on.

There were no other dogs near her when she was found do you think its reasonable to assume nothing has happened? And is there some sort of morning after pill situation for dogs in these sort of oops situations just in case.

Speak to the Vets, I think there is an injection that they can have.

Speak to the vets, I think the jab is called mismate.

It's not cheap but it's much cheaper than rearing puppies

Take her to the vets, there is an injection however not many vets do offer it. My vet didn't know what it was when it came up in conversation.

Usually when dogs mate, they stand rear-to-rear with the male's penis still inside the female. This is called a "tie" and lasts for about half an hour, so if she was really only out for 10-15 minutes I'd say it's unlikely that she was mated during this time.

You can get a "mismating" injection at the vets, but it does have some risks. Your vet will be able to explain which ones apply to your parents' dog.
