Possible lymphoma

I took my 9year old bitch to have her anal glands emptied on Tuesday & while doing so, they found a lump right by her anal gland, so we've had to go back today, to see what is happening with it after ibuprofen, & lactolose (the lump is causing constipation too) the vet is saying she doesn't really know what it is, but from her experience, lumps like this tend to be lymphoma, but as my girl is in season, she can't rule out it being hormonal.
The constipation has only been since Sunday, but they've done a blood test today & the vet promised she would call me by close today to let me know what the test come back with, but she never called ☹️
Now, as you can imagine, I'm going out of my mind, I've googled lymphoma in dogs, but she has got literally none of the symptoms, so I'm really hoping it's not that!

Has anyone else had this, or know what else it could be?

My ddog had a mammary tumour removed recently that was cancer. Got it in time and she is making a full recovering. Ime lumps are sent to scare the beejeezus out of us.
Fingers crossed for your ddog op.

An anal mass could be a few different things.
If the bloods are normal and shes otherwise happy and healthy the lump can be removed and sent to the lab for analysis. That will tell you exactly what your dealing with.
Not all cancers are nasty spreading diseases.
Some are benign and removal fixes the issue.
You wont know which you have without testing.

My dog had lymphoma. She got poorly very quickly and lost a lot of weight. All her glands were visibly enlarged. Did they biopsy the lump?

They said where it is they wouldn't be able to operate, but they called me last night about her blood tests & she said they've all come back fine, it could still be lymphoma, but it's looking less likely. She has none of the symptoms at all!

We had to go last night & pick up antibiotics for her, so hopefully it'll just be an infection & the antibiotics will get rid of it all, the vet said she wants to start her on steroids straight after the antibiotics to get rid of the lump, but I'm hoping it won't come to that & it'll just be an infection that'll will clear up.

I just can't believe that the vet went straight to cancer, before exploring any other avenues, but I'm feeling a lot more positive now.
Thank you everyone x
