(56 Posts)GuacDog seems distinctly bored with me this afternoon as I work from home.
So far today our activities have been
- 40 minute walk through field including off lead zooming and playing ball
- Had a frozen carrot
- 15 minutes round the block at lunch
- Filled his holey ball with hidden treats in old socks
Plus going in and out the garden, plenty of head scratches, barking at an invisible cat etc, mainly napping in a patch of sun.
I'm now getting sad face and sighing so I'm clearly not interesting enough OR he wants an extra meal.
What are your dogs up to?
Got a poorly doggy. He's hurt his back/neck so is doing a very good impression of Quasimodo whilst giving me looks of distain/pure misery because I am not fussing over him and feeding him chicken!
Bless him, though. He is in a lot of pain and the meds the vet gave me don't seem to be helping much. Back to the vet I guess for something stronger.
No idea, he’s at daycare
Collecting him at 4, after which he won’t do much as he will be too tired
Mine have been dogging in the garden and come in for a nap, the older two are settled on the floor but puppy clearly decided the best place to lay was clean washing
Sunbathing, you sound like you're over stimulating him he needs to learn to settle but if you continuously give attention he'll keep looking for it.
Little missy is at daycare, she will be home at 5 and will be knackered. She’s sometimes bored at home though and I feel bad. I’m looking up enrichment ideas.
Carnage is sunbathing, and the terrorist is snoring loudly on the settee. They'll get a long walk when Daddy gets home as I've hurt my shoulder.
Oh don't worry Bookworm he's middle aged and very happy to settle, just having a huffy half hour. My heads in a spreadsheet so that's the focus - thread is to see what other dogs are up to.
Love your pack hoddy! One definitely enough here
I forgot I booked the walker for today so took DDog on a walk for an hour then he went straight out with her afterwards. They've been gone since 12.30! Hopefully he's having fun
At the moment in the back garden enjoying the sun,
in the garden sitting watching the small furries in the run.
The small furries have been ignoring polar dog
Little Dog has been for a 45 minute run through the park this morning after kids were dropped at holiday club, then home for a couple of hours, then an hour in the woods with my friends Springer x as she was at work. He's still grieving for Big Dog who we lost last month so he quite likes the company where we can.
Currently lounging on the rug in the sunny spot. He's a Yorkie so almost 2 hours off lead have knackered him out!!
Got some weave poles and some cones with poles, so a bit of agility in the garden. Practicing different types of crosses.
Pup has had his usual sort of morning. Got up, went out for a pee but was distinctly unimpressed to realise it was 6.45 so promptly went back to my bed to await my return with a cup of tea. For me, not the pup.
A morning of stealing the washing, zooming round the garden, quietly stripping the honeysuckle and doing 'No biting' and 'Give me the sodding ball or I can't throw it can I?' training brought about the need for a nap. Then an exciting visit from a friend when his recent hormonal onrush resulted in a demonstration of what my mother always called 'Don't let him do that, dear. It isn't nice'.
Having been left for an hour or so this afternoon, he's now stolen some more washing but done so with great charm. He's now lying in his bed with one eye on me in case there's something thrilling planned.
Mine has been at daycare playing with his pals. He's now asleep after a hard days work
Mine is flaked out now, but she was staring vacantly at me with her pale Weimaraner eyes 👀. I don’t know why.
DDog has done a Easter trail at a country park and then to a cafe with me and DS. DDog wasn’t much good at finding the egg pictures but seemed to enjoy himself!
He then came with us to a skate park and sat very patiently with me while DS skated.
DDog is now staring at me hoping i’ll do his dinner. He’s going to have to wait until i’ve finished my cup of tea!
Mine is currently snoring on the other settee , he doesn’t usually sleep after his tea but he has had his nighttime sleep disturbed as ds is home for a few nights and they share a room .
So far
I walked her 4km
Ds walked her 2km
He tied her squeaky toy to the rotary clothes line so she was jumping/chasing that.
She fast asleep on the sofa now.
Lying on the couch looking depressed. I can't walk him as I'm out of action due to pregnancy and DH is on a long day at work. Poor dog doesn't understand.
Mine is very happy because DH has the day off and has been pottering in the garden on and off all day. She loves nothing better than being in the garden while we’re doing things out there.
She’s also had a nice walk at a National Trust place, complete with a good long stare at the chickens in the kitchen garden there. They absolutely fascinate her, she doesn’t bark at them and they seem completely oblivious to her being the other side of their enclosure. I don’t know what she thinks they are.
She’s now in her evening dozy phase, napping at my feet while I sit on the sofa.
Has been flaked out most of the day, recovering from doggy agility yesterday
He's very cross because there's a cat outside. Or there was about half an hour ago. It's probably long gone, but SquirrelDog is still furious.
He's just buggered off upstairs, where he'll be either staring intently out of the window, or stealing washing from the washing basket and chewing on it.
