Any recommendation for a harness please?
We currently have a small ezydog harness which won’t fit her for much longer.
She absolutely hates having a harness put on and will have a grumble, but is fine with it as soon as we get out of the door.
I’ve got a feeling the chest plate on her current harness is a bit boney, and also where the straps are thin they tend to twist when putting it on and then slip to the left and right depending which way she’s pulling.
So ideally a harness that is comfy, perhaps thick straps, easy to put on (maybe over her head like a collar) and no boney chest plate!

Happy to pay up to £40 as it should last her a good few years now she’s almost reached full size.

Ruffwear are amazing. My dog has 3 and they get washed every week. Very strong, 3 years use out of them so far. Totally adjustable.

I’ve heard good things about Hurtta harnesses.

Currently using a cheap bunty one from amazon which I actually quite like but will probs go for a Hurtta one when she’s bigger.

Perfect Fit all the way. Soft, strong and plenty of clips so you can either slip over her head or wrap it round her and clip it up.

I like that the top of the ruffwear ones looks more substantial than what we have. When she’s on a lead and pulls to the left or right the whole harness slips down to the left or right.
She also hates having to put her legs into our current one.
How do you put the ruffwear ones on? Over the head or legs in?

We use a Freedom harness from Doggy Boho. Sturdy and easy to snap on, and doesn't rub or restrict shoulder movement. And it comes in loads of lovely colours!

Oh and it does go over the head!

I never got one because I hated how the front strap went straight across the chest and shoulders. Looked like it would restrict movement, especially if the dog was pulling at all to cause it to press tight against the dog.

She seems to hate the chest plate of our current one. It seems to ride up and jab her under the neck.
That’s why the Julius K9 appealed to me.
I wish there was somewhere we could try them all on.
I think our Pets at home sells 2 or 3 brands and that’s it.

Indi-Dog harnesses are great if you have a dog that isn't keen on lifting their legs to put through as there's a clip on either side so you just pop it on over their head and can do it up without them having to move.

I think they're currently catching up on orders having been somewhat swamped so I'm not sure when there'll be more stuff up on the website.

I use either Indi-Dog Houdini or Ruffwear Webmasters for my lot. I would definitely highly recommend either.

@Squickety does the freedom one help with pulling?
She can just about manage loose lead walking whilst on a collar, but you can’t attach a long line to a collar.
Was hoping to find a harness that she won’t pull on, and once we get to the field we can swap the lead with her long line!

Perfect Fit harnesses all the way.

Thick fleece padded straps, fully flexible (nothing bony!), machine washable and still in perfect condition after 9 months of use. As there are five clips but you only need to undo two to get it on and off you can choose if you want to put it on over the head or from the side.

The sizing is a bit confusing, but we bought ours at a dog show in the summer and it was fitted for us, plus one of the local independent dog shops will fit them for you.

Although PF fitting can be tricky, I have found them to be brilliant at allowing you to swap unused peices for a diferent size for no extra cost.

I really like the Ferplast Ergo fit harnesses for bigger dogs - soft chest plate, adjustable straps, easy to put on if you can get the dog to put one paw in. Great for our hounds, but couldn't get a smaller one to fit on the Border terrier at all, funnily enough. (So if anyone's got a rec for a Border terrier? I'll have a look at Hurttas and Perfect Fits.)

Perfect fit look great. But the sizing is confusing me already!

Ddog has a ruffwear harness. We couldn't understand perfect fit harnesses either.
