Hi, please can someone give me some advice, new puppy owner, he came to us on Monday, he is settling in well, but I can't move without him being next to me, he cries for me constantly doesn't follow anyone else around just me, how do I get him to just feel that he doesn't have to follow me everywhere?

It just takes time. It's new and scary and has clearly adopted you as his security and feels safer with you.

Mine followed me around for months and it was only when he was an adult was he happy to chill out in other rooms. Even now though he is still my shadow, preferring to be with me because I spend the most time with him. You do get used to never being alone to pee Grin

Thank you, just to know that I won't have to shuffle around my house to avoid standing on him forever helps..

Our pup is 16 weeks today, he’s definitely getting better and Although he still follows me quite often he also surprises me by happily staying in another room on his own sometimes - but that always makes me suspicious like when a toddler is quiet 😂

11 months here, and definitely suspicious, she's usually either foraging through the recycle bin or terrorising the cats.

Mine is at 15weeks and the same as Pringle89.

Is everyone taking their share of training, feeding, etc? That will help strengthen the bond.

We have a rescue sweet girl. We've had her for ten months now, and she's 7/8 years old. She decided that DD was "her person". Dog follows daughter, wherever she goes, from room to room. And, yes, that includes the bathroom. Daughter feels honoured that dog has decided that she is her person.

Puppy clearly has decided you are her person. Enjoy!
