How easy is this? Would be great if anyone has any tips for me re. getting him to England. He's chipped, vaccinated and has his own passport. Grin

I have 2 cats, apparently he likes cats which I can believe because he's a very gentle sweet natured boy, not nippy even though he's teething. I helped look after him for a week in Spain and fell in love. Pix will explain why...

I've never wanted to have a dog before meeting this little chap, he is very special.

The DEFRA website has all the details, assuming you're planning on completing this before the end of March (and that "vaccinated" includes rabies) then you'll need a pre-trip worming visit to the vet. Read both pages.

www.gov.uk/take-pet-abroad
www.gov.uk/guidance/pet-travel-to-europe-after-brexit

If you're thinking it might be after the end of March things might change, but so far DEFRA are suggesting that nothing will change for importing pets into the UK regardless of Dea/No Deal. But that's guidance, not law.

Thanks for that. Do you know how to co-ordinate travel, ie. using a freight company or can friends put him on the plane Spain end and I collect him at one of the approved airports?

There are pet air courier companies that do the legwork for you but they will cost.

Do include driving him back from Spain in your list of options as it may work out cheaper. Unfortunately you can't take dogs on the euro tunnel train.

When we moved our 4 cats from UK to France we used a pet transport company, who were brilliant. On my experience I would recommend them. They picked the cats up from our house in a specially adapted van, and delivered them to our new home a few hours after we’d got there ourselves. Also in the van was a puppy going from UK to Spain. The company was pets2go2. Good luck with the adoption!

You can take dogs on the eurotunnel , it’s the Eurostar that doesn’t take them .

No help here at all. But he's so sweet. That colouring is gorgeous.

We have a street dog and he's lovely, but quite anxious.

He's the most laid back puppy I've ever met, MrsTP.! Not at all nervy or cringey at all. He's a Bodeguero mix and even killed his first rat whilst we were taking care of him! I'm not at all bloodthirsty, but did feel slightly proud of him. Grin

Thanks for the rec. French, that's just what I was after. Collecting him by car also an option, road trip across the continent, yay!

Another pic I have many He has a white mark just inside of his nostril that looks like a bogie. Grin The ears really are something to behold aren't they.

An update, the young man is here! He arrived on Monday and is snoozing and hiccupping next to me on the sofa. Sadly he can't sleep on the bed yet because that's where the kitties sleep, and they already think I've ruined their lives....
