Tips for keeping dog entertained inside? Very pregnant and walking is getting tricky

I'm nearly 35 weeks pregnant and really struggling with walking. Feel out of breath/dizzy immediately and have PGP. My dog is used to getting an hour a day and I can barely manage a veeeery slow 20 minutes at the moment. My partner walks him for longer a few times a week but he's working very long hours at the moment. My mum walks him sometimes too.

Any ideas for things I can do to keep the dog entertained until post baby when I can walk him properly again? Can't afford a dog walker. We have a couple of treat puzzles but he's used to them now and figures them out very well quickly. Play fetch a lot inside too but I'm worried that he's getting bored.

Can you throw a ball in the living room?

Hide treats about the place?

Do some training? New tricks?

Can you throw a ball outside so he gets a good run about whilst you stay still?

Tricks are good for mentally tiring them.

Borrowmydoggy instead of paid dog walker.

The usual things such kongs, licky mats etc.

Brain training.

Food frozen in ice so he has to work out how to get it out

Do you have a kong? They can be frozen after they are filled so it takes longer for dogs to empty them

Practice getting dog to stay in one spot before receiving a treat.

Oooh I've just googled licky mats, never heard of them before they look great! Think he has an old kong somewhere so could dig that out. He's not great with training (not that bright and gets sick of it very quickly even when chicken/cheese is involved) but maybe this is our opportunity to try to work on it a bit more

Even if you don't use them now, with your DH working long hrs, it would be a good resource to be able to call on once the baby is born when you might need extra help.

My daschund is kept entertained for hrs with the following:
*secure a long piece of thick string firmly across an opening or doorway at dog height

• before securing, make two holes at the same point half way down an old plastic water or pop bottle - do this three or four times depending on number of bottles - and thread them on string
  
• the idea is that the bottles can be spun around from upright to upside down with thread through the bottles (if that makes sense)
  *put small pieces of herta sausage in ends of a couple of the bottles and rest in upright position
  *sit back and enjoy watching your furry nudge and spin the bottles upside down in order that the treat falls on the floor

@Staringcoat hahaha that sounds absolutely great, totally going to do that, I bet my dog would love it. Sounds like borrowmydoggy might be a good shout then, never used it before but could come in very handy. He's a very friendly dog and loves meeting people so might be ideal

Lickimats and a Kong Wobbler

Take a large towel or blanket and put a bit of kibble inside. Fold, more kibble, fold, roll, kibble etc till you're rolled into a tight bundle. Fun way to hunt for dinner!

When I was massively pregnant I used to drive the dogs to a field, open the boot and throw the ball and a few times then put them back in. No walking but the dogs felt like they had been walked if that makes sense!

Get a few balls, put chair at the bottom of the stairs to sit on and throw a ball up the stairs . Try and aim it over the landing tai so,that it does not come straight down..Our dog will do this for ages.sometimes she stays upstairs chewing the ball or sometimes brings it back.

When we first had her she could not go off lead, so,this gave her a heart workout.

This is better in warm weather....but my dog loves to chase a hosepipe or water pistol jet around the garden. Lots of running for her, less so for me!
