Emergency consult is usually around £150 here so I would say somewhere in the region of £400.

My emergency appointment with a guinea pig was £150 just for the slot never mind anything else so I think it'd be more than that. I chose the wrong career clearly!

Emergency appointments here are £150 and that's just the consultation. Mine has a day and night rate for admission but can't remember off hand what that is. Any medication administered by our emergency vets is always dearer than my own vets even though the emergency vets occupy my vets premises.

So I wouldn't be surprised with a £500 bill and anything less would be bargain.

Because if it was my usual vets I would be looking more at around £100. Emergency out of your vets are a lot more expensive.

Wow, just Wow. I paid £53 this week for a 5 minute scheduled consult, antibiotic jag and 3mls of metacalm.

Ah that would explain it as my vets charge their normal consultation fee even for emergencies whereas the out of hours emergency vets you are talking £150 before anything else. I also know if under my vets for admission it's very cheap but if they have to be actively monitored by the OOH then the costs rocket.

If our vet was open as normal it would be a normal consultation price even if it was an emergency.

We paid about £65 when dog got trodden on by DD’s horse one Saturday morning (our vet is open as normal on a Saturday)

Out of hours is £150 just for the appointment.

My vets probably under £200, as it cost £500 for similar with my dog but with GA, xrays & ultrasound on top.
Many vets open Saturdays so not necessarily out of hours, I know my vet often stays late & doesn't charge extra, when they should really.

Vet costs can vary with the area you live in though, here their overheads are much lower.

I'm glad she was OK. Its good to have vets can trust & are affordable, many practices are corporate owned & so they don't have as much choice with payments.

That is very cheap. Was it the owner you saw or an assistant?

Ours is open on Saturday during those hours so would expect it to be a normal consult (£24) and definitely less than £100, probably around £60-80 depending on the cost of the painkillers etc.

We saw the vet nurse then the vet himself.

They are always cheap and so lovely.
