DH battles with BiteyDog every night to brush his teeth. There is no way on earth we would be able to do a scale and polish and still have ours hands left

Yeah. Dogs.
He doesn't mind tooth brushing or me scratching with my nails.
But some plaque are just too hard to get rid off.

I've just googled this as I cannot imagine, in my wildest dreams, my dog sitting still while I pick away at her teeth with a sharp instrument. It's hard enough to clean her teeth with toothpaste.

Anyway, there are people who claim to have done this apparently; well I found one person.

Using a pick on your dog's teeth is going to be uncomfortable for it at the very least. Can't imagine there are going to be many dog who will sit still while you cause them such discomfort/pain.
