I'm conf.licted.

Either Scout or Piper, but I seconded Piper on a baby names thread recently so feel I shouldn't recommend it for a dog. It is my favourite though.

Well that was a resounding Scout! I love the meaning too and if she doesn’t listen then it’ll be ironic 😄

What nickname would you turn Scout into though? I do like a silly name for when they’re being cheeky.

Eh? It’s a dog and doesn’t need a nn. Scout is fine. Just Scout.

Well no one ‘needs’ a nickname but our pets usually end up with one. It’s just a bit of fun.

Her nickname doesn't necessarily have to be directly from her name I find tbey just come over time. Our cat Leia is mostly known as Mrs Mop no one really knows why. The kitten is called The Kitten (she does have a name no one uses it apart from the vet) our dog Bobby is known as Sir Bobert, apparently Bobert is from onw of the cartoons the kids watch, we are not sure who added the Sir but he is always Sir Bobert not just Bobert. So call it Scout and wait and see what happens.

Scout as it’s the easiest to shout in a park if it goes awol.
Agreed with nickname not being tied to name. Our guinea pigs nns are big boy and little legs nothing to do with names.

Scout is a fab name for a spaniel!
Totally irrelevant but when I was young I had an imaginary springer called Skipper (we had a real dog too, whom I loved, but it was fun to have my own secret, special companion alongside me too)

Scout for me. Great name for a dog.

Another one for Scout. But I do enjoy meeting dogs with really ordinary human names- we met a Nigel last week
