Hi all
Today a friend brought around her new 6m old puppy who she rehomed from it’s original owner and picked up Friday.
Friend has not sorted out insurance or vet yet (despite my warning as having it ASAP for a new dog as you don’t know their medical history).
As I said she and the puppy came round today and played with our dogs to a degree and licked my dd on the face a few times.
She gave the dog a de-worming tablet and he vomited it up (as they are prone to do, as many will know- we use the gel ourselves for this reason)
In his vomit there were worms.
She’s taking it seriously and sorting both the insurance tonight and the vet tomorrow apparently.
My worry is that she could have passed them to our dogs (who might be protected as they were only given the treatment a couple of weeks ago)- but my greater worry is that he could have given them to my child, especially since she licked her on the face and dd held/handled the puppy.
How worried do I need to be and what on Earth do I do? Wait for worms to know? How likely is this??
Thanks in advance!!
