Can they do anything? He's 9, and he's very very stiff. He doesn't want to go upstairs at all now he's happier staying downstairs. He also struggles to get up after sleeping. He has a walk for about 2 hours every day off the lead and he plays and runs fine, so I don't know if it's just tiredness from off the lead zoomies or something else? When he runs he does this funny thing with his back legs, he kind of bunny hops?

He's on yumove and there has been a massive improvement but he's still not right.

Can the vets help with pain?

I would definitely go to the vets and see what options are available.

Yes - there’s a whole load of painkillers and a few non medication treatments that can help alongside them as well.

Mention the bunny hopping though, because that could mean it’s his hips.

Painkillers could make a huge difference to him, so definitely worth seeing a vet.

I give Yumove and CBD oil and saw a massive improvement.

Ddog also does hydrotherapy, though now only about every 4-6weeks which helps with muscle tone and keeps her moving well.

Painkillers have given my 12 year old lab a new lease of life

Our last dog has arthritis in his neck and it used to be so painful at times. He was put on painkillers permanently, and also had valium as it seemed to go into spasm occasionally. Once he was on them all the time (as opposed to when it was just a bad day) he improved a lot. There is masses of treatment available. Speak to your vet.
