Crazy Cocker pup !

Not needing advice but just wanted to say I have just spent half an hour detangling my Cocker spaniel pup who somehow managed to get one of those thin round hairbrushes tangled in his ears. He had managed to get both ears caught up in it so it was kind of on the top of his head with the fur of both his long curly ears tightly wound up ! I have painstakingly pulled individual strands of hair out one by one to release his ears !! Goodness knows where he found it !
We are seeing the funny side of it now but it was terribly alarming at first !! Let it be a warning to you all !

Just to clarify I haven't pulled hairs out of the pup just out of the hairbrush, just released them one by one !

Awww I love my spaniel's ears. Have to say though, they get trimmed every 6 weeks at the groomers so they have a lovely wavey look but no tangling Grin

My cocker keeps tangling his up at the moment - but it's only been since he was wearing cone of shame to stop him going at his tail, prior to that he hasn't really had tangles (unlike my cavalier who gets them tangled constantly).

Once you get past the horror of it, I imagine he looked quite funny with his ears tangled onto the top of his head.

Spaniel ears!

Mostly I love them. The day mine came out of a hedge with about 20 burrs tangled up, holding both ears in a knot above his head, I hated them. To be fair, after 30mins of my brushing them out, so did he Grin

I applaud you for getting him to sit still long enough to have them detangled! Mine wouldn't have done that even for a peanut butter kong Grin

Yep, spaniel ears look utterly gorgeous but are a pain to keep tidy.

Poor pup with the hairbrush, but I bet he looked really cute with a top knot Grin

I have to work very hard to make sure our springer doesn't get knots in the back of his ears. I usually work at them while he's asleep otherwise he tries to eat the brush.

The first time we took ours out for a walk, he got a carpet of sticky buds caught in his ears and skirt! Not our finest hour!
