The doghouse

I do not deserve my dog.

She is just so pure and sweet and innocent. Genuine love of my life. Her little squeek when she yawns and the way she taps at my arm to snuggle in for a cuddle.

I'm not worthy.

Please tell me I'm not weird/alone in feeling this way about my dog!

My dog has chewed his new harness, which I bought because he chewed through his first (does it when he's in the car and can't see him Angry and currently thinks recall is run back to mum and then run away again as soon as he sees the lead. He's is not pure and innocent but I luffs him.

I don’t deserve mine. She loves me even when she only gets a half hour run in the freezing cold or when her dinner is late or when I leave her home alone for two hours or when I’m a grouchy cow and shout at her for chewing up recycling (how’s she meant to know it’s not a toy box?!).

She’s just totally unconditional in her love and totally undemanding.

I did think that my dog was really devoted and uber loving yesterday when I was watching TV and he was staring so intently at me, and nudging my arm every so often. It was only after he had kept up this staring and nudging for 20 minutes that I realised that he was trying to tell me telepathically that he wanted his dinner

I know how you feel ! We were away for the weekend and those tails, dancing paws and kisses when we got back make me tearful, it’s pure love, even Major Tom, our beautiful cat comes over and cheeps “ nice to see you are back, now can I have some more dreamies”

Awww! So glad I'm not alone - was telling my friend my petless friend who just gave me the ' Hmm ' face and told me to get a grip!

My dad is looking after my sisters dog while she saves for a deposit and is working in a completely different part of the country. She'll often pay £60-£70 for a train ticket just to spend one night sleeping in the same bed as her beloved dog Grin

And this is why dogs are man's (woman's) best friend. Mine definitely is...we were prepared for all the bonkers, bouncy, mischievous, greedy spaniel behaviour, but not for the all-smothering love that he gives us every day. Absolutely amazing pooch in every way. Smile

Our JRT is the best dog on the world and we tell him so every day. I love his morning yoga, and how he looks at us with his head in downward dog and how he comes to us for evening snuggle time and how he loves playing football and a million things every day. How he really wants to be a good dog. How we are his 4th family and we know he is ours and we are his and he isn't ever going anywhere. We love him.

ahhhhh @joystir59 I know exactly what you mean!

My latest rescue pup seems to genuinely be grateful and happy he has a forever home now. I'll never forget how a few days after we rescued him, we loaded him into the car to take him to our vets to get registered. He was so unhappy - i'm convinced he thought we were taking him back. He nearly exploded with happiness when we brought him straight back home :)

My dogs are my everything. I know a lot of people just don't get that, and I don't expect them to. But those of you who do know exactly what I mean.

None of us deserve the love of a dog, it's the purest love ever.

We're just lucky to be able to have them!! And in return we should look after them as best as possible :-)

Really winds me up when non-dog owners comment about how "it's just a dog" ... "It's not a baby" etc.

I don't deserve our older Dog. He's just so lovely and good and all that is beautiful about a canine.
I hate to think what I did to deserve our girl Dog who is possibly a demon in Dog form. I love her but my word...

I don't deserve my JRT. She is part dog, part cat, part human. She loves to sit on my lap and when I was pregnant I was so huge there wasn't enough space for her and she kept sliding off. I could have cried as she tried to balance and cling on to my knees.

Someone once told me 'everyone thinks that there dog is the best, and none of them are wrong'. So so true. I love dogs.

Same for me. Whenever I see her swishing about tail up with her beard and skirt I smile.

She’s the best woggalicious in the world.

We don't deserve our beautiful rescue Belle. Shes been gracing us with her presence now for four days. She was so nervous and needy when she came to live with us. The kennel said she didnt play and wasn't motivated by food. It tooks us three days to get her out of the house. Today, she played out in the garden, played with two of her toys, and, best of all, came upstairs to sleep.

This staffy is for her life. She's not a young girl, but she is already so loved.
