Me to children -“okay, it’s bedtime”. Children - “I can’t find my toothbrush, I need to have a recorder for school tomorrow, she pushed me, he said I was stupid, he took the book I was reading, she touched my towel, he didn’t actually brush his teeth for two whole minutes, she told me what happens in the book........”
Me to dog “okay, it’s bed time”
Dog - goes out, does wee, goes to bed. Full fucking stop.

Ddog is always happy to see me, grateful for every meal and walk and is generally a joy! My presence alone pisses teenage DD off, nothing is ever enough and she is a stomping shrieking ball of hormones.
