Missing collar

Went out earlier and Resident Collie was proudly sporting her collar. On my return, the collar has vanished. I have checked all the rooms she has access to, the garden, the rooms that have closed doors while I'm out... The collar appears to have sprouted legs/wings and buggered off.
Any ideas for where else I can look before I order a new name tag?

Is she one for burying things?

Jasmin82 · 23/02/2018 19:01

She only buries things if she can do so without getting muddy/wet/dirty paws.

I'd try under bedding, under beds, in sofas etc.

This reminds of the time my dog lost her collar in a large field. Bought a new collar and tag. Two years later (!) I found it just sitting on the path in the same field. Why I had never found it initially I'll never know. Probably fallen through a hole in the space time continuum.

Probably the same hole in the space time continuum that has taken three balls from us in 10 days, despite not having lost any for months. One ball I SAW where it landed, didn't bounce, and then PestDog couldn't find it and neither could I Confused

So.... Sofa and chairs have been almost dismantled, to no avail. A thorough search of Resident Collie's bed revealed 4 squeaky toys at various stages of dismemberment, a half-finished stag bar and a bonio. No collar. Garden has been rechecked without success. Resident Collie refuses to inform me of what she has done with collar. I think she's proud of herself that I can't find her hiding place.

Has she eaten it?

Jasmin82 · 24/02/2018 13:18

Collar has been found. It was in the bottom of the bin. I'm not sure exactly how Resident Collie managed to get her collar under the bin bag, and I'm not entirely sure I want to know how she did it. Collar is in the wash and tag has been sterilized and attached to spare collar. Resident Collie is giving me evils for finding her new hiding place for things.
